I had a test run with my tank on the fields and it couldn't turn well. In fact, it CAN'T turn!
It was a new pack of batteries. And the field wasn't wet.
That problem caused my team to lose during last Saturday match [30 M1A2s vs 30 Leopard2s]... we got our ass kicked by them! Even with E-Sky bombing, we lost!
So now, I'm thinking of "upgrading" my tank so it functions well on the fields. Any ideas??

That's the only problem that I have with those tanks, too. They have a kind of slipping mechanism that slips too easily.....better than broken gears though, I reckon. If someone ever comes out with metal gear box replacements, I will glue that slipper thingy in place and have a much better tank, but until that day the best idea is to drive in places that you can turn easily, like sandy soil or concrete.
Maybe you and your friends could set up an urban battlefield in a parking lot.
Good Luck!

Find a dirt field. Or accidentally spill a large amount of herbicide.
So the Leos turned better than the m1a2s ?
And you guys had a battle of 60 tanks !!! That's awesome!
Too bad it has to be nato against nato though. VS needs to introduce some warsaw pact or chicom or DPRK tanks.

Interresting, I've never had problems with my abrams, even with the standard tracks it out-manuevers my leo's, albeit slower flatout. I wonder if the gears have been stripped already, causing it to slip prematurely or too easily. Of course if it was most/all of the abrams... I'm not sure.
Although, I gotta know, What did you have to do to setup 60 tanks?

For our 60 tank match, we used airsoft pellets.
Here's how it goes:
-Both teams will have air support.
-Each tank would have a driver and spotter.
-A spotter will record the number of hits on his assigned tank. [Max hit points: 100]
-Drivers are to search and destroy the enemy tanks.
-Team wins once all tanks are disabled.
-Air support can be brought in every 30 minutes.
For the battlefield, we would usually go to the beach..
We wanted to try the fields.. so yeah...
The Leopard2s took us out within 40 minutes!
Our Blackhawks only managed to take out 6 tanks but we still lost!!!!!

Before the offense attacks the defense, does the offense acquire photographic intel via rc plane camera ?
Or does the offense start from a position where they can see the defenders from the start ?

We will be given 2-3 hours to locate the enemy and destroy them. [The time is based on the size of the battlefield, the shortest time is 1 hour.]
Once the time starts ticking, we will move out from a designated location and slowly search the area. Until we make contact with the enemy team. And the war begins.
And for air support, yes. We use RC choppers (custom made blackhawks/apaches) and RC planes.
The blackhawks are controlled by 3 people. 1 pilot, 2 gunners. Apaches are for 1 pilot and 1 gunner.

I'm curious as to how 60 of these tanks can all operate at the same time in the same place.....everyone with a different frequency. There aren't enough channels/frequencies for these tanks are there? That alone must be difficult to coordinate. [

I ain't kidding.
First of all, This is a unofficial school club! It was formed on 17/02/2006. We asked people who had experience in RC.
So far, this is our 3rd battle. It's not like we can pick a day and get a war going!
Every member in the club is still a STUDENT. We have exams every week! In Singapore, not doing well in school is extremely "bad".
This club is just a stress-relieve, and the reason for not being publicized online is because of the local authorities and people.
We do not want people to come to our battles and get shot accidentally!
As for the frequencies, we DO NOT storm in a frontal charge. Once contact is made, we would break into multiple groups of 3 and seek them out. That's why we got air support! Hell, it is always common to see a tank fighting with at least 4 tanks. That's also another reason why our battlefields are big.
As for shots of the next battle - deal!
I'd get you a couple.

Just let us know when your pics and DVD's are ready. We're not trying to rag on you and doubt your story. It's just that some of us know that these tanks come with only six frequencies so the idea of 60 of em running in one space seems problematic. Should be great entertainment.

I got Vs Tank Pro M1A2 as well, and I'm also having trouble with forward turning on off road or on thick carpets. From what I've observed so far, it seems that reverse throttle is always at maximum power, so the tank has no problem turning in reverse, but forward turning is capped at 2/3, which basically makes it un-turnable on any rough terrain... Also one of my suspension seem to have been broken already

seems like M1A2 is MIA. cant help but wonder if the 60tanks battle was all a hoax? unless we see some pict or video.

Ah so you have both Leo2 and Abrams? Could you check if Abrams have higher ground clearance than Leo? Cause I read somewhere that Abrams had higher ground clearance, but if they are similar in ground clearance, I'll be getting a Leo next for sure.

Still I won't be getting more Abrams's. Overall turning performance is still worse and lack of lights makes it look less realistic. Plus I really like overall looks of Leo. German engineering

Ok now i'm completely confused... my second abram (yes I got two, one for me, one for my cousin) is running like one crazy tank! It easily outspeed my first abrams, and it can turn so well that I no longer feel any disconform superspinning the damn thing on my carpet....
Maybe it's the batteries, but I doubt that's it.
