Hasn't happened at the three store around me! Still full price. The 1/6th Abrams went for cheap though.

I've seen some on e-bay from time to time and in Target as well.

Capn,

Did your Panzer IV come with the side skirts or did you make them?

Can I get patterns for the mounts and side skirts so that I may add them to my panz IV?

Regards

I run mine quite a bit, too. With 8 batteries, it will run forever! With the 4 batteries, it looks cool turning slower. I also reworked the 5th roadwheel back. On mine, both seemed out of line and lower than the others. It helped keep it from throwing track all the time, and released some of the track tension, too.

Tote, is yours like that (the 5th roadwheel)?

Bullyhys,

The tank came with turret skirts, but I replaced them with styrene, using the old ones as a template. Also, the many bends in the mounting brackes proved difficult with styrene, as they kept snapping. Warming them up first was the key.

The hull skirts were a pain in the neck. [:@] Trial and error (mostly error) was the key. The hull skirts are still wrong, as they don't overlap like the real ones. I may just make the wire mesh skirts for it, anyway.

All of the pieces, turret and hull, were tacked together in place(hooray for double sided Scotch Tape!), marked out for mounting, and then glued together.

When I get a chance, I will take measurements and post them.

ALSO! I wrote 8 batteries. That was meant to be 6 AA batteries.

I received one this past Christmas. It is what got me here!

It throws track, runs like a spotted ape, and sheds it's hull skirts all over the yard! Didn't like the way it looked when I got it, so I did a whole bunch of modifications to it. All the skirts were done from styrene, and the hull was reworked because, the final drive gears scraped the sides as well as the screw posts. I'm lucky it still runs! I tried the 4 battery thing myself and the only problem was it didn't run for very long. If only they made better tracks (ones where the center guides were on ALL the links), it wouldn't be too bad a tank. That is, with speed control, a suspension, and a whole new radio system!

BTW, there are more pics in my gallery and, OH, YEAh! Buy this one at your own risk!
I love what you done with the tank...but I found that when the batteries are fully charged yes the chances are higher to throw the tracks however with some practive I might throw one
once in a hour now! My tank I love to death..hoping they make a Tiger tank next!!

I wanted to add something...use rechargable batteries and you won't need to do that remove two batteries mod...since I've changed mine over the run time has increased
and throwing the tracks are almost nill...I find after a good run to check the tracks alignment..I took mine in tall grass, up the hill on the side and then through the dirt with is really loose and the traction is excellant!!!! I think I might look into modding this tank with a few options once I see the insides..

My wish list is the following:

1. smoke generator
2. firing airsoft gun.
3. metal tracks if possible.
4. add driving lights

outside of that this tank is solid.
