Hi
I just got a HL Tiger 1 About a week ago. I have been checking out this forum to see what the scoop in the RC tank world is. I have had to other RC tanks in the pass the first on was back in the 80's. It was the Radio Shack Sherman the other was made by Tycoo other than that I have not had an RC tank in some time. I did some looking around and reading on this forum to see what was up. Before I bought a tank the HL seemed the best to start with because of cost and I do like to tinker so up grading with not be a problem, I have already flipped the gun mantel over, I lost two of the towing shackles in the yard so I got some small screws and nuts from work then drill holes though the shackles and put the screw though them. I have also ordered the metal gear boxes, tracks, dive and idler wheels.

Welcome to the forum, Killhammer. [sm=thumbup.gif] You will find that we will all help you if you need it from time to time, but be prepared for some tongue-in-cheek humor and maybe few biased opinions, as well.
Everything is usually all in good humor.

Welcome to the block.
It lists you as being in Jacksonville FL if thats correct there are at least two local RC tanking clubs in your area.
ETO and First Coast Armor Division. as well as SEAD which is based out of Atlanta. RC is fun but alone it gets boring.
I would recommend you go to one of their meetings or practices to see what the higher priced tanks are like(tamiya full options with battle units). As well as seeing some really good scratch built tanks.
Bob Hearne is the contact for ETO you can find that information on the RCACN site www.rcacn.com/divisions.htm
FCAD is a member of THQ so you can find their information at http://www.rctankhq.com/
If you have problems contacting them let me know.
I will warn you that if you like RC and are the least competitive if you go see the Tamiya tanks in action you will become hooked
and will wind up driving to Danville VA for Battle Days
If you do decide to build a Tamiya kit once you have decided which one (pershing if you have any sense
talk to people about the extras you need and the little quirks and tweaks. It will save you a LOT of time
