Pershing Reference Books

Been scouring the net for reference pics ever since the acquisition of the 1/16 HL M26 Pershing. It has made me realize what an overlooked, underrated and forgotten tank it was.
I have decided it may be best to purchase some reference books and am wondering how good these two are in terms of showing actual tanks from WWII (hull numbers, markings, tank nicknames, etc., of particular tanks) since I want to model a particular tank and/or see just how many marking variations there are.
Please contribute any pros and cons you may have about these books.
Thanks!

I have several of the "squadron/signal" books for aircraft. The aircraft books I have date from the 60s & 70s and they do have a lot of pictures and illistrations in them. It should be a good reference book. If you decide to get it, let us know how it is, I also have a HL pershing and am looking to give it a new paint job.

I have them both PLUS the one from New Vangard #35 'M26/M46 Pershing Tank'.
ALL were more than informative, especially in dealing with my project, the M26A1 which was surprisingly very different than I thought it would be.

Thanks for the information, both of you.
I will certainly post my review of these two books and any others I may obtain. I shall probably have to just dive in and get them to find out what's what.
By the way, Panther F, that is one particularly stunning M26A1 of yours. I enjoyed gawking at it in that other post a pic of your rc tank thread.
How about some more pics there and with better lighting this time!

Thanks for the kind words Harq.
Right now I just started on my Tamiya Sturmtiger and am trying to forget the Pershing build for awhile. It was a tank I wasn't really going to build but rob it's electronics to build a Thunderbolt that I had started. Modifying the gun travel lock and repositioning it to the rear deck along with reworking the A1 gun and cutting down the brake muzzle was no fun at all, especially the suspension!
But as a tank on the battlefield there is no other match and what a fun ride it is compared to the Sherman and the WSN T34/85.
I'm not much into photographing my completed models so when I get a free moment and there is some sun light I'll snap a few more.

Book on the left is good, don't know about the one on the right. Also have the Vanguard book, it's better. More history and clearer photos. Both books share some of the same pictures, the Vanguards' pictures are smaller and clearer.
