Hey all
Havent been around lately, but have added another rc tank to my collection, a tamiya pershing, one question, since I don't have the manual, how do I take the top hull off to get at the battery, the tank is in very good nick, so I don't want to damage it experimenting.
thanks
chris

OR, rearrange the electronics and modify the speaker housing so that when you rotate the turret at the right spot you can lift the turret off and slip the battery out, or charge it without removing all those screws. Here's a pic of my M26A1:

I also deleted the electronics tray and shimmed the DMD so that is did sit level, reducing the overall height. Later, I did install Deans connectors for the battery and hard wired both DMD and Mulitfunction battery leads to save even more space.

Yep, if you just undo the front screws you can lift the hull enough to get the batt out without undoing the rear screws.
Jeff's mods look good, I just took off the roller thats in the way of the batt , now I dont have to undoe any screws to get the batt out

Yeah ... I forgot about the turret roller.
The Deans connectors are so easy to disconnect and to charge the battery without removing the upper hull.

I'm sure there is some loss of sound, especially the bass is affected, but it's just as loud. I can run the tank from the other end of a basketball court, so that works as well too.
Most everyone runs the antenna wire inside because you not too far away from the tank, unlike you would be a R/C car, plane or even boats like I used to run.
