RE: my project
The FV101 Scorpion is a British light tank, part of the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) or, CVR(T) family. The full design name is Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) Fire Support (Scorpion). Manufactured by Alvis Vickers it was introduced into service with the British Army in 1973 and served until 1994. More than 3000 were produced.
Yes it was little weighting in at 8.07 tonnes
You need a few to out weight a Tiger lol [sm=wink_smile.gif]

RE: my project
Well Benny Boy after your last post directed at Tiger76 i would be amazed if anyone answers any of your questions
again... in fact i would think the moderator would have something to say about that last post... it was not called for,
Tiger was just joining in with some information he thought relevant to the thread.... but having read your posts on this forum
i cant say i am surprised... I and other new tank modellers have found this forum and the people who are willing to help
and pass on any information they can invaluable and dont deserve to be verbally abused by you ...

RE: my project
First off, what scale? If you build the scorpion, you might want to consider 1/6 scale.
I was part of an Army/USMC test team in the early 1980's that tested the Scorpion along side several other candidate Light Armored Vehicles -- we chose the Canadian 8X8, which is in USMC service now -- the Scorpion was a really cool LAV but didn't quite meet the full requirements for transporting troops... it was fun to drive and made for a great recon vehicle. Brits did a great job, as they do with all their armored vehicles...
If it were me, I'd go for the Elefant in 1/6 since I prefer the older, WWII era vehicles. It's also one of the heaviest armor vehicles ever produced, next to the King Tiger and the Mousse. If you have access to a machine shop, go with metal hull and turret, etc. -- find some heavy duty Pittman motors, etc. and go for it!
Cheers...

RE: my project
Hi i dont have access to a machine shop but me and my dad have disided to go with a 1:16 U.S. m113a2 troop carier because it looks cool and easy to build.
