Default HL selling help

Hey guys, I'm selling my HL Pershing on ebay. But, I don't want my auction to be removed because of a wording technicality thanks to a Tamiya snob. Does anyone have any suggestions on what words to avoid? I think this was discussed before. Thanks

I haven't listed it yet. But, someone on the message board listed an hl tank as being "Tamiya like". Needless to say ebay removed the auction on request from someone, citing it was not accurate advertising and such. I just wanted to kow if anyone had any suggestions.

"why pay over $600 for brand "t" when you can get this scale Hl pershing with airsoft for $___ complete with reciever and battery pack.

get the idea. that will dis that "t" snob and there is nothing he can do. or you can even say tamiya(tm) and use a disclosure that you and your tank are no way affiliated with tamiya (tm).

Just don't put "Tamyia" anywhere in your listing.

Don't mention anything T

Your tank has nothing to do with Tamiya. So unless you're saying something like "not as good as a Tamiya" it'll get pulled.

Just say what is and not what it isn't.

I don't see why you would have to mention Tamiya but if your heart is set on it so it comes up when someone does a search on Tamiya, here is how I see it done with soooooo many car adds on ebay.
For example the will say;
For sale, 1967 camaro, not 68, 69, or 70. Not a Mustang or a corvette.
THat way they hit all the search words and don't get pulled. Coincidentally, I hate it when people do that.[>:]

Putting "Tamiya" in so that people who search for Tamyia find your Non Tamiya is why it'll get pulled

The name Tamiya is copyrighted so to use the name to sell a none Tamiya item infringes copyright. Even if you put not Tamiya, the fact remanes that you're using the Tamyia name to attract more bidders.

I had a run in with GamesWorkshop selling terrain I was building and selling on ebay.

You can mention tamiya in the description. Just not the title. Otherwise it'll be remove for keyword spamming. Other than that, you'll be fine.

I agree. Advertise it for what it is. Use keywords like: radio/ remote controlled tank.
I hate when listings contain keywords that say what the item is not. Wastes my time and makes keyword searches less effective.

It was me that had the problems with the listing that you were referring to. Basically its about not allowing the use 'like tamiya' in the TITLE only. Some Tam snobs as you put it took objection and had me sticthed me up and the listing was removed ( just hours left with bids on it and 30 watchers). You can make a comparison in the description but apparently not the title as it effects the searches so ebay told me. Ebay do not check themselves, its the interfering gits that spoil the party that have nothing better to do. ebay actually had sympathy but well you know, removed it anyhoo. So, dont use 'like Tamiya' in the listing title and you should be ok. I am about to sell a few of my painted tank bodies on Ebay and am thinking about my wording too as it happens. Make sure you use '1/16 RC tank' and you will pick up the Tamiya searches anyway for the most part.

I had the last laugh BTW, the auction was going well, but as I was forced to re-list the HL tank ended up going buy it now for 3 times the price the auction was hovering around. The irony was, it sold for what you can but a Tamiya on ebay for anyway, so, thanks Tam snobs.

how abou this one?

A geniune Heng long made US M26-persian tank, well established company.
and this is not made by Tamiya. But value for money.

Full suspension....xxxxx speed, plenty of power for hills....

That might work!

I do have some sympathy for any Tamya dealers on Ebay who may feel threatened, if a guy is bulk selling lots of HL or anything alse and using the Tamiya name to gather searches, yes that needs addressing. But, if your privately selling a one off tank just to make space and some bitter loser stitches you up and you have to spend another half hour re- riting the listing that is just sad. Also slighlty annoying.

Ebay were quite apologetic to me after when I explained that to many Tamiya is to RC Tanks what Hoover is to vacuum cleaners and that was why I used the word, so they do understand the prob. Tamiya should take it as a compliment anyhoo.

put my A.F.V. club 1/35 M40 BIG shot on there the other day but it got pulled as e-bay thought i was selling a firearm [X(]
this was apparently due to the fact it had an aluminium turned barrel which E-bay figured could be used to fire real rounds so watch your listings guys

The listing I have at the moment states that the piece is accurate to the original Tank...does that mean they might think Im selling a real Tiger 1 then??

lol

Reminds me of a conversation I had at Bovington last year

my mate: Wow, that Tiger's amazing. Imagine owning one of those!
me: Yup, that would be seriously cool.
my mate: But where would you park it?
me: Anywhere I damn well wanted to!
