Default T34 APV

Just thought I would share pictures of my current project. I haven't posted pictures in a long time. The Color is Green just looks dark had to turn my flash off on the camera was making the pictures really bright. Did some Airbrushing on the base of the Tank. Over the weekend plan on adding all the Small Detail then will use the Airbrush again to tie it all in. When That happens I will take pictures again and try and get the camera to work better. You can see the Shadowing in person much better. The last Picture is Standard for me in adding ESC's and a mixer. Well hope you like them.

Anthony....

Looking good mate. Not to discredit your work in any way, but the T34 tractor/APV's I've seen have two hatches (cupola and another) on the welded steel plate over the turret circle.

WSN T34 is 2nd/3rd on my "gotta have it" list... Hows the ESC and mixer going?

Thats the picture I was using as a referance.... I Didnt have a extra Hatch. and the one on the Turret of the T34 is molded in.[]
best I could have done was use a Sturm tiger hatch I had but there would be a periscope. I got My T34 On ebay about 2 weeks ago for 75 shipped fed ex. the Esc and mixer is the only way I will run my tanks. The T34 is my second Favorite Tiger being the first, Like everyone else.. But there are so many veriations with the T34 with russian and German. That I think I might try for another one. I like the T34 /german 2x20MM AA

Either way, it looks great. Good to have something different out there!

Got any vids of your T34 or other ESC-equipped vehicles in action?

Interesting setup with the ESC....could you provide some info on swapping from HL or Trumpeter...ie; difficulty, cost, benefits of this system?????I don't run my T-34s much as they are a lot like Century 21 in performance. Looks like a fairly simple hookup.

It costs about the same as if I were to use a Dual H bridge setup for Robotics or one for RC tanks. I Just like using the ESC's because if they fail my Hobby Dealer will take care of it for me. and i dont like the cheap electronics that come in the WSN and HL tanks. It's a personal Thing really.. The extra work involed with wiring and finding a place to put everything Doesn't bother me. Would I recommend it to anyone on the forum probaly not unless they had some ESC's laying around. It would be easier going with a Single unit capable of runing twin motors for RC use. As for difficulty it's pretty simple Take the two esc's and run them from one battery then take the 2 channels you want to run the Tracks left and right run them through the mixer then into the esc's. In the setup for the T34 APV I can use a 2 channel, where as in my Tiger I used a 4 channel and made Servos into esc's to control Turret and gun elevation.

Looks good!
Here's a photo of some wire mesh I used for the engine grill on mine before painting. Got it at Micheals Crafts.

THAT turned out really nice! You just cut out the plastic mesh and left the frame as is?

this is my 2nd T34 I thought it would be cool to have something that wasn't a tank but still had purpose along side of one.

The frame is thin sheet metal from a coffee can lid or something similar. I had it laying around. The bolts are plastic rod cutoffs.

I used Tazer 12T Esc'c in my T34, My hobby dealer ordered stock 27 turn ones but the tazer 12's are what came in...He charged me for the stock 27 turns like 25$ a piece. The mixer is a GWS V tail mixer about 15$ I tried using the built in mixer in my radio but it didnt work so well. The whole set up cost me around 65$ really isnt that bad...You could go cheaper with Forward only esc's like the Micro C5 or C10 used on 380-400 sized electric planes, But then you dont get reverse forward only. A buddy of mine said there is a way to wire the sound into the esc's but he hasn't showed me how to yet.

That's awesome! Looks like an American 90mm dealt with that! I always wanted to do something like that and put a train smoker inside and turn it up full blast so it looks like a fresh kill!

And shadopilot, the framework on that looks really nice. PE? We don't need no stinkin' PE!

Jeff....good idea with the train smoker.[X(]..might just do that on a display setup. Think one would run on a 9v battery?
No 90mm....my scenario was a 105mm from an M-45 in korea. [:@] Photos.. the kill was easy...the "burned tires were made my demmeling the ridges meant for the rubber tires and leaving the residue in place and stabilizing with super glue. The other side was less burned and I actually burned the tires on the first two wheels with a micro torch, put all wheels in the max up position and got as much sag as possible on the tracks. Memories of ones I saw are still vivid. [] Note only the driver got out. [&o][&o]

Its not the weight of the tank they cant handle, its the uprated motors that's killing your HL boards
