ORIGINAL: BIGMIG

Just edited this ---I had mentioned a M5 stuart tank listed on ebay---THIS IS NOT AN RC TANK-----
BIGMIG

P.S. just wanted to mention that if you bid on this tank I would ask and make sure this is an "RC MODEL"---Did not see anything that indicated this is RC----I believe there were NON RC VERSIONS of this tank made also---But I'm not posative about this.
BIGMIG [:-]

I CHECKED WITH THE SELLER-----THIS IS NOT RC------
Just wanted to make sure anyone who had seen the tank I had posted that is on ebay for sale is NOT RC----It looks just like the rc models.I sent this guy a message telling him he should have listed this as NON RC because it is mixed in with all RC ITEMS.I like the end of the ad--Buyer Beware---------very fitting. Looks like you made a score, somebody did a lot of work on that one.For what you are paying it's like finding it alongside the road.
A lot of guys are paying that much for a HL tank with just metal gears, and that one has metal gears----BIGMIG

P.S. I took the last one I bought out two days ago and ran it up a very steep bank, can't believe how they will climb.

I wish I could pick mine up today but we have about 15 inches of snow that fell yesterday and last night with some drifts around 20+ inches.

Dang shame , I really wanted to see how well the wide tracked tanks work in this mess!

its light enough it should work fine in that snow. Not like my 170+ Leo 2 that would sink.

Seeing as I used to be on the M1 for real, I was pleased to grab one of the Abrams on it's initial run from my Walmart.

I got the Stuart at Wally World also. IIRC the Abrams was released about 1.5 years after the Stuart.

Here you can see them near my other large scale machines. One Nylint crawler, kinda useless machine but it was only $35 on clearance, my FG CAT truck and my FG Monster truck and my V24 boat.

Yeah, those 1/9th scale Abrams are huge! I just didn't have the room when WalMart was practically giving them away.

No they're no where in sight!

Does anybody know of better electronics that could be fitted but still keeping the sound option? I had thought about using Tamiya gear from the 1:16 Sherman or Pershing but did not know if it would be able to take the voltage and strain of the heavier tank.

cheers

Hi guys

Just got my set of M5 tracks today from Jack as recommended by Pattoncommander. Only one word for them - awesome. On top of that the guy was one of the most helpful and friendly people I have had the fortune to come in contact in this hobby and I can recommend both Jack and his product without hesitation. If you have one of these beasts and have wondered about the tracks I would go for them.

Next stage will be a few nights in front of the TV putting them together along with the rest of the detailing work on the tank itself - a few months work I think.

Cheers again Pattoncommander for the info on where to get them.

HI

There were different prices depending on the options you went for. They were exceptionally good value though given the amount of work that has obviously been put into them. There are ones with threaded pins and ones with push fit pins and other options for wheel covers and suspension bits - I went for the push type pins as the M5 they are going on gets a pampered life unlike my other one that has a bit harder lifestyle.

If you email Jack he will give you the options along with postage costs. His address is [email protected] and as I mentioned in my previous post he is exceptionally helpful.

Cheers
