Default my tiger so far

just a couple of shots of my hl tiger the panzer 3 is making my brain ache so the tiger may jump the qeue i modified the visor ,dremmeled off the moulded tools and box then rebuilt the box and its brackets so its removable next job is the little things either side of the mg once i work out a correct size and positions for them looks untidy at the moment due to all the filler, the front plate has also been modified so that it now has two bolts epoxed into the lugs at the back so i can attach it tightly to the hull without glue

That is actually the jack block not a tool box. it is used for supporting the jack when neede on soft ground. It should most likely be pretty grubby looking. Even muddy, not well cared for like a tool box might.

If there's a doll house shop anywhere near you, go there. Often they will have many different types of wood in various sizes and thicknesses. Some will have a very tight grain, and can be used for the block. Also, for the cleaning rods, same source, or some hobby shops have a selection of wood dowels in quite small sizes of various woods.

Michaels is a chain of craft stores. They have a fairly nice selection of balsa and basswood in many shapes and sizes. That is a great picture of the original, looks like they used two pieces attached with metal straps. Looks like two butcher blocks. It was probably easier to find the smaller thickneses of wood than one very thick one. Some basswood would do the trick.
