I have no idea
Concidering your the one that seems to think that matotoys makes tanks perhaps you can shed some light on this subject as I am very confused on how a Canadian distributer/retailer company makes cheap chinese tamiya knock offs

This is a load of bunk. I won't hold my breath. At this rate the HL Sherman will be out before the Mato. And Yes HL is going to be realeasing a Sherman. I don't know what version yet but I'm sure it will atleast be a VVSS.

The Sherman is a Mato release. Heng Long and Mato are linked. UP until now Mato has been a distrubutor for Heng Long tanks. THere is a family connection between the two. THe Sherman will be Mato's first "project" tank. When you are talking Mato and Heng Long it gets confusing. I doubt there are many secrets between the two.

This must be vaporware!. All the hype then all the silence. If is for real then how about some delivery dates?

The "search" feature on this forum is your friend. It will keep you informed in case you miss something. Like the photos of the upcoming Mato Mart M4A1(76)W and my news updates on a couple of posts that are usually on page 1 of the forum every day.
As stated earlier, the tanks are in production and will be shipped together once the order is complete. There's a bunch of 40ft TEUs sitting on a dock in China waiting for Shermans!
How long does it take to get from China to a port in North America? Then how long to Mato Marts warehouse traveling by a convoy of trucks across much of Canada? When I get an update from the factory I'll pass it along to y'all.
P.S. - Mato is going to do a VVSS Sherman? Anyone have photgraphic evidence?

Killick: You're right but a convoy of truckers provides a better visual IMO!
Dongskie: April was a planned release date but we weren't satisfied with some things and fixed them. Then the factory made a bunch and these Initial Production tanks were thrashed around until a couple of minor issues surfaced and were dealth with. The design was frozen shortly thereafter and we're in full production now.

Guys...
I was one of the ones here that told you YEARS ago that Shantou-Mato was one of Hen Long's manufacturing companies in China, and that when MatoToys showed up, that it was their daughter-distributor company. Then again, no-one ever listens to me, right? Right.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=6005491 (dated June 19, 2007)
Here is their web-site: http://www.matotoys.cn/eng/main.asp and click on Distributors. Torro in Germany, MatoToys (aka MatoMart) here in Canada.
Whats the relationship between Hen(g) Long and Shantou-Mato? From what I understood, Shantou-Mato is (or was) ~one~ of the HL factory/makers, and I would assume that if this Sherman is being flagged as a Mato item, that they went it alone, outside of HL's umbrella. Mebbe they are the sole maker, or just the final-assembly/main-shipper. Mebbe that was a front-name? Do we ~really~ care?
Bottom line is, the Sherman is right there on the front page, and yea Swathy, its VVSS. The News page backs it up with a bare-hull pic from port-aft (dated Jan 6th, this year) ... It looks pretty damn decent (though I'd say over-weathered) I'd buy it just to get one of the T26-type turrets (though I prefer the T23 style with oval hatch) and a cast hull. It would be nice to know if the VVSS can take the battlefield though. Shame to have to have to replace it right off with metal-cast parts.

Patrick,
The pic on the Main page is from the box art. The other photos on the News page are from a prototype.
Dongskie: Sherman! Shermans are like Pringles, you cannot have just one! (quote stolen from YHR!)
33rd AR, 32nd AR, 66th AR, British, Canadians, Poles and South Africans all used them with distinction in combat!

AH... I stand corrected.
Whomever did the artwork did a rather good job, though I'd not want one quite that 'dirty'... And the Prototype looks rather good too.
Now I wonder who'll be the first (if anyone does, that is) to make Israeli M50/M51 conversion kits for these? Or Priest/M12/etc. GMC kits?

I think Pattoncommader would delight in a few Israeli Shermans. The TDs and an M7 are in the works if demand is strong enough. The M10 may come sooner then later.

Swathy,
Oh yea, I'd rather an M36 first, then an M10, and a Priest last in priority.
Mebbe yoa poll for the guys about if they got TD's, which they'd want first?

That's gotta be a modified Tamiya. If you go through that customer's pictures, he has at least 3 AFVs built around an M4 VVSS chassis.
Very well done, though.
