The headlights and taillights vary by model, but I think all of them have some sort of lighting. My Type 90 has yellow turn signals that blink in the correct direction while turning. I love my VsTanks and don't feel the need to talk about them here because they don't break and don't need upgrades. I do not run the 6 I own very often because after getting a few HL's, I can no longer tolerate the controllers and sounds. As soon as the new electronics are available, I'll be buying 6 upgrade sets and running mine all the time.

I use rechargable 2600Ma/h AA's and get a good 2hrs out of them. Regular AA's run over and hour and cost a fortune to replace 8 x 4 at a time when I have battles in my driveway.

Hey Smittyrob

I was just looking at the ToyEast Websight and they carry the "Sparkling" version 1/24th scale Tanks. At the moment you have a choice between 2 Abrams and a Leopard. It sounds like these Tanks are neither IR or BB shooters. Sparkling features are flashing cannon (muzzle flash), recoiling action and sound feature and real life reloading time. I would think all these 1/24th VSTanks have headlights, but I dont know about tail lights. My Late Production Tiger 1 has the one headlight but no tail light. And in case you did`nt know, the engine sound effects and headlight only come on when the Tank is moving. Anyway, I just got this Tiger yesterday and I`m really impressed with it. It looks great, works great and runs great. I have no problem with it being non proportional and am having a riot driving it. Although in a battle situation it might be a bit of a pain as there are 19 buttons on the Transmitter. I just wish I could turn the sound effects volume down or even off.

Thanks for the link and clarification, my Marui tiger I think is identical to a VStank except no sound, lights, and maybe some detailing. I like it quite a bit though,
fun to drive around on my desk while I'm working sometimes.
I wouldn't mind getting a late tiger and maybe an abrams or leopard. Seems to me these 1/24's are getting more popular, especially with new models popping up and now with FOV's introduction into the fray.

It's a shame the companies won't work together so the battle systems would be compatible.

beesknees, open her up (a real pain on the Tiger) and place a .5" thick piece of memory\high density foam between the speaker and the top of the sound box. This cuts the volume down to acceptable levels and allows you to hear the motors and tracks running. The speakers are glued, but pop out with the help of a screwdriver. It's the first thing I do when a new VsTank shows up at my door.

Hey Smittyrob

Sounds like your Marui is a great Tank.....It has all the good features but without this very loud and annoying sound effects I have with this 1/24th VST Tiger1. BUT this complaint is barely worth mentioning, overall I think this lil Tiger is excellent.

Hey Pcsguy88

Thankyou for the info and advice, it is appreciated. Afraid I came to the same conclusion,
getting at the innards of this little Tiger will be as big a pain as getting at the innards of a Heng Long Tiger1.....I`m gonna have to take the darn tracks off just to get all the screws out. And actually, I think this is gonna be worse, much worse. I`m going to have to take a teeny tiny little pin out of the track to get the track off the Tank, and then...oh the horror, the horror ! I`m gonna have to put the pins back in !!! noooooooooo!!!! lol

Barry,

I did the memory foam thing to all 8 of my Vstanks (no tigers I am afraid). If you have the rubber tracks, you can almost twist them apart to remove the pin.

Hey Tim

Well since you must have this procedure down to a science by now....wanna do mine ?
Actually I just got the very brainy idea to have a look at the spare track links I got with this VSTank Tiger, to see if I could even see the darn pins. AND THERE AINT NO PINS !! These track links all snap together !! This is terrifiic news !! This speaker muffling job should be a breeze now. And by the by, these little hard plastic Tiger Tracks look great, and when the Tiger is stationary, they even drape very nicely over the sprockets and down onto the road wheels. Ive only got about an hrs running time on this 1/24th Tiger but have had no problems running it on carpet, tile and concrete.

The power and accuracy are good. Its at least as powerful and accurate as a Hengl Long
and can hit a 1 foot square target @ 20 feet no problem.
So where did you get the memory foam ? I hope you are`nt tearing hunks off the mattress

Just wait until they release the proportional control upgrade. [sm=biggrin.gif]

Thanks for the memory foam offer, Tim, but I think I`ll have this noise problem solved shortly....if I could just get this little beast apart ! lol

Gentlemen, I have the VSTank 1/24th scale late production Tiger, and I cant get the deck off the hull. I`ve removed the 3 screws on both sides that were above the roadwheels and the one screw that was at the front underside of the hull. So thats 7 screws I`ve taken out and this
little beast seems as solidly together as ever. What am I missing ?
Thanks guys !

There is usually a screw in the battery compartment. Look there.

Thanks Tim, but there are no screws in the battery box. It just took alot of very careful prying with a very small screw driver to get the deck off the hull. Amazing how well it fits together, the 7 screws I removed are`nt even needed. On the inside its a nice neat wiring job, although the wires going to the turrett could be longer.

I have the KV-2 vstank, which is one of the newer models. It has a working single headlight and the pair of tail lights (working only when the tank is moving (signals left, right and reverse).
The volume control is on the bottom of the tank, next to the off/on switch. Your tiger is one of the older model, and may not have this feature. The volume control has 3 settings: Loud, medium, and quiet (no canon or machine gun sounds).
I also picked up the sparkling leopard 2A5, which is a discontinued series. It uses a camera likeflash on the gun to simulate firing, but the gun does not recoil. Instead the whole tanks recoils. Its very similar to my Marui Leopard tank, which is an Airsoft. The Marui leopard is very cool, because after you fire a pellet, a panel on top of the turret, just behind the gun flips open to simulate the exhaust of the canon firing. I don't know if this happens on the real leopard tank, or if this is just a thing for the airsoft. My two airsoft Marui Abram doesn't have this feature.
I am very interested in getting the new proportional controls with the KV1 when it comes out. If it works as advertised, I'll probably get a couple more controller upgrade kits.

Nope, you are not missing anything. 3 screw on the side, one on the front lower hull. Then just pull it hard, they tend to stick. I have 11 Tigers and removed hulls in all of them, trust me, you won't break anything. Just be sure to put it back fully too. And be sure the orange wire from antennae is not jammed when you put it back.

Hey Warren
Yup, you are correct, there is no volume adjustment on this older model VSTank 1/24th Tiger.
Although, like your KV2, the VST Sherman I just got does have volume control. But unlike your KV2, this Sherman does not have working tail lights. Aside from this, which is nothing,
I`m just as happy with the Sherman as I am with the Tiger. Its just another great little Tank.
Everything works and works well. The only nit picking thing I can think of is that the main gun has very little up/down movement, it wont lower to a horizontal position, so when Ya shoot, you`ll be shootin high.

Hey Condor11
Thanks for the help it is appreciated......You have 11 1/24th Tigers ??? Were`nt you the guy......nevermind lol Anyway being very impatient I got to the problem before I got any advice and just pried the deck off the hull. Have to say you must have had to reef pretty dam hard to get those decks off, and I`m surprised it could be done without breaking anything. Guess it just goes to show how well these Tanks are made.

Hey, I never said I didn't like them!

I had to open each of my Tigers to disconnect speaker (because the sound is just too loud). Plus I replaced road wheels on a yellow Late Tiger to turn it into Mid Production Tiger.
You won't break the plastic. ToyEast made it just right that it is not too brittle. I should know as I have probably 100 hours on one of my Tigers driving outside in the snow in winter and in the dust in the summer.

Hey condor,
I am interested in getting the mid prod tiger tank from vstank. So aside from the winter camo, you're saying the road wheels are different from the late prod version? Any other differences?

No other differences. ToyEast Mid Production Tiger is basically a Late Production Tiger with wheels from Early production.
So all I did was bought yellow Late Production Tiger, bought spare set of Early Yellow wheels and replaced them.

You can do the other way around. Buy white Mid Production Tiger and put the wheels from Late Production (paint them in white).

Remember, you can buy spare parts, like wheels, from VsTank.com if you register as VsClub (it is free). Then the shipping is free!

I need to know whether the VSTANK Pro 1/24 Tiger I Early (shoots BB) comes with individual plastic links or rubber tracks, I want the plastic tracks one.

I guess they come with rubber tracks and the plastic tracks is an option offered separately. Or I am wrong?

http://cgi.ebay.com/VSTANK-PRO-1-24-...item5ad2c57ea3

What makes me think is the fact that the plastic tracks is an option:

I wouldn't want to order it and get the rubber tracks version.

Thanks

All VsTanks Tigers (Early, Mid, Late) have always came only with plastic tracks. There were never any rubber tracks for it.

I honestly don't know why they sell spare plastic tracks. Maybe because they sell all the other spare parts.
