KV-1 Build

I have found the following as suggested colors:
Olive drab or green
Tamiya XF 65
Apparently the color could be different from each factory and if only some tractor green was available it was used too. Some cases no paint was used when hard pressed and primer or a brown camo was seen on them.

You really can't go wrong with either choice, since there's really no specific standardized color green used by the Soviets. They vary slightly from each batch, from each factory, etc etc.
Although I prefer not to use olive drab, just for the simple fact I would like to differentiate the colors of my Allied tanks to the Soviets.
Good luck with the build! Can't wait to see it.

Testor's or Model Master's has a Russian Green. I haven't used it or even seen it but at least it might be different for you against the other OD paints out there.

Use the Testors Sov Green. Don't remember the number, but it's a standard Testors paint. Looks pretty close to the colours the tanks were painted 4 years ago in Museum. They painted them again this spring, but it's some ghastly shade of yellow/green now. Never saw quite that colour before, but it surely would not blend in to any flora I know of.
Is this a Tam build I presume?
