With Martin's excellent design the windscreen and the armored shield for the windscreen are two separate pieces. If you think they will fit I have no problem with printing a few for you, Shaun.

Thanks Buddy been designing as much as i can i use tinkercad i can't seem to grasp the fusion 360 maybe have to watch a tutorial i guess
been watching some of your videos on youtube pretty awesome i didn't know you had so many tanks...lol i think i have only 10maybe 12 i'll have to count them again

Do you know if they have a driver figure?

Michal_Kaczorowski 11-19-2020 02:05 AM

Maybe something like that:

Great find, Michal. I'll definitely be purchasing that set. But I'm still looking for an Allied driver if anybody runs across one.

I just started this whole 3d printing fad and I have to say, the ability to create pretty much anything is awesome. I used tinkercad for a while and only recently sgarted with fusion and I love it. Still coming up with ideas i cna add to my tiger 1. Try to keep a lot of the tank though since it is modeled after a Kursk camoflauge. I was thinking of 3d printing my own 8.8cm tank rounds. I have the copper and silver pla. Just need to model and scale the design.

Airbrushler, definitly take the time and watch Lars Christensen's videos on basic modeling in Fusion 360. I spent about 3 hours figuring it out but once I did, I find it soooo much better than tinkercad.
Here are some link to the videos I used to get started...

Thanks I'll watch them see if I can grasp the fusion 👍

I got a 3d printer now too! Had it about 24 hours and having a blast learning about it. Printing a design I made with Fusion 360 of a fuel drum right now. These things are cool.

Yup!
I have two, one is a Flashforge dual extruder FDM and the other a Creality CR-10MAX because I can print 440mm X 440mm X 470mm which is great for large tank parts. I'm considering a third which would be a resin printer but even with water based resin it is still not environmentally friendly. Reading and researching carefully you still shouldn't have it touch your skin and I'm not flushing into my septic system so I'm holding off for now. But I would like the resolution that they have for small parts.
I'm thinking I should sell all my machining tools because I'm only printing parts now . . .. . well maybe not, not yet!

Found this thread and thought ì might need to be in here :)

Still learning about it, but here are my first test prints.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...93822e2e74.jpg
The burro and Abrams are just for scale. The cooler and water jug both have removable lids. Still some glitches to work out, but I'm proud of the progress so far.

All of those items are scale models of modern stuff I own and could measure myself to put into CAD. Now I want to find some WW2 stuff to measure and model into CAD. Any suggestions?

Looks good Pah co
You have the best of both, printer, and the ability to design your won.
I have 2 printers Cr10s Pro and Prusa MK3/MMU.
I have Fusion360 but no skills to use it...try to self learn, as usual...

I would say as far as WWII stuff, I bet anything you design will be a hit!

Great job, enjoy your new addiction!

Here are those same designs printed by a friend a while back and painted up.

Oh, and I'm totally self taught in AutoCAD, both 2d and 3d design ( AutoCAD mechanical 2020, and Fusion 360) I work for an engineer, so I use it everyday. If I can learn it, anybody can.

Shorty54 02-10-2021 06:35 AM

I hope you have better luck with your Creality than I did with mine.
Mine has been a nightmare to get to print reliable and consistent.
My Prusa has been a dream in comparison.

I print mostly PETG. Going to try some TPU this weekend hopefully.

I have heard good things about the new updated Ender 3 though.

Shad

Airbrushler 02-10-2021 07:03 AM

I have the Ender 3 v2 also

Crius 02-10-2021 07:50 AM

I found that for TPU you need to make a few adjustments. I run the nozzle at 230 degrees, the print feed at 30 m m per second, I run the flow at plus 10%. I usually use a .4 mm nozzle but sometimes it prints better with a .6 millimeter nozzle. I found that the wood infill filament definitely prints better with the 0.6

Thanks for the advice Gary.
I have printed just a few small PLA/Wood prints.
Still need some tweaking...smells great though!

I thought it would be a good starter printer. I can learn on this one, then upgrade later if I want.

That's just the kind of info I'm looking for. Thanks Gary. I may be leaning on your experience as I learn this new skill.

I set the printer up near my CAD work station. I set it to print, then I work, and it makes me a new toy while I make money. How cool is that?

Pah co chu puk 02-10-2021 09:45 AM

Just printed a wine bottle. It was the first thing I found in my house to measure that also could ride on a WW2 tank! Guess it could work for a modern tank too!

Creality printers are great. I have 5 and run them 24/7 although all have mods and tweaks, albeit not much more than stock.
I will try and find some pictures of one or two items I done this week and I get good results.
I use fusion360 although the day job is using Inventor. I love the ability to take the stuff that's been in my head and make these thoughts reality.
enjoy

I've seen some of your work, it's amazing. I have the CCKW, the 1 ton trailer, and the Dodge ambulance Martin did up, so I think we may have shared some files somewhere in our past.
