Thanks Blitz! Here's the latest photos. Still not finished...but getting there. Only one picture is close to the actual color...I am planning to buy a new camera. lol
I am working on fitting the brackets for the turret dust cover and installed the periscopes from eto. It's still coming along.

You have come quit away since joining not too long ago. I envy your tanks. Where did you find that paint " mr surfacer". It does an outstanding job of simulating cast parts. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful repaint. I am doing the same tank,and have finished the construction and painting.
I did spring for the pewter A/M periscope guards,after deciding my handmade ones weren't as good.
What RC rig do you use? I have an older Futuba 4 ch,which uses a dedicated nicad pack for receiver power.

Thanks alot 1Sgt. I am trying my best to learn as I go with each tank. If not for this site and the good folks here, I'd be lost.
Tankcarl, the Mr surfacer was purchased on ebay. Was not expensive and a little goes a long way. It is easy to work with and being that it is applied with a brush, ou have alot of control over where it goes.
As for the rc system I am running the Spectrum DX5E bought from rctankwars.com w/BR6000 receiver. It's a nice setup and I have no problems with it.
Do you have a diret link to the pic you were trying to post?

Your tank looks really good too! I'm working on a test fit for the dust cover and will try to post pictures if I get it together this evening. I'm also looking to install the Turnigy chip this weekend.

Don' t forget to drill a hole through the engine lifting hoist mounts on the loader's side of the turret.
And add a loop on the square pad above the side rack on the TC'c side of the tank.

I got the dust cover on, but not thrilled with it.I am going to look for a better material to use where I can get it to conform a bit better. it will do for now though.

Thanks Googly...I will see what I can do with that.
As for the cover...yea, I used a plastic bag which is not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to try it though. I saw a build on another forum and the guy said he used cling material of some sort...I am not sure what he meant though. The material has to be paint friendly and platic bags are not. Next shot will be with material from an old bandana.

Exactly. Those mounts were for a jib crane attachment,so engines and such could be self extracted. I am thinking a good material for the mantlet cover could be a fine weave cloth. Cnavas does look " coarse,so at 1/16th it would fill the bill. The only downside it would be stiffer,as the cloth is 1:1,and the scale of the tank is smaller.
I also added some tie down loops on the top of the rack,on the side of the turret.

Nice video of your "Fireball " running.
I was lucky,I assembled mine,and knew the barrel was in the recoil stage. After painting,and testing everything,The gun came out to normal "in battery" positiion,
and I had a nice clean area where there would be no paint,on the sliding surface of the gun.
I plan on making a rolled tarp for the right side of the fender,with appropriate simulated straps holding it in place.
On the photos I have seen of production M-26's there were no loops on the drivers side front stoawge box.

So I messed up again? lol That figures...I though they had the tie down there too. Well, easy to fix. I can't wait to get this thing out in the right terrain!

So I take it your liking your pershing?:D Man the sounds are really impressive, that's the first time I've heard the tam pershing, wow. Makes me re-think about getting a sherman. LOL, I covet thy neighbor's tank!!!!!!! HAHAHA!!! I am stoked with the Tamiya Pershing. I keep telling myself to stick with the HL's...cost efficiency and all, but..well...I think I have turned to the dark side!!! Trust me, once you have one the addiction only gets stronger. I'm waiting for the T-81 tracks from Kenny Kong to arrive so I can make this tank almost accurate lol.

P.S. The Sherman is the ONE tank I want above all...I'm up to three tanks and still not one Sherman...http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ssed_smile.gif
