Ahhh,
I was fudging around to get all of my 4 ch gear fit into the hull of my Pershing,and I finnally got it. Zip tied the 4 servo wires,which kept
them out of the way of everything. I am using a Futuba 4 ch,and it has a battery powered receiver. I was having an issue getting the
receiver battery to fit in,and finally tonight I got it all to fit well.
On to painting the track. This is more for making this a contest ready model at a show in Chicopee Ma. next month. I suppose with any extended driving the paint will
flake off. but for a short while it will be okay.

Man when you tackle a project, you really tackle a project, I've been talking about a project for months now lol. And since you have done this, I am having a hard time deciding on which tamiya to purchase (Sherman or Pershing) thanks a bunch :D

Ty Wade! Well, when I have something sitting there I need to make sure it looks good. lol I want a Sherman soooo bad, but right now I spent my cash on the pershing upgrades and detail parts. I love the Sherman tank. I am thinking of getting the Mato just so I can say I have a Sherman. Honestly though, the Pershing is one hell of a runner. This tank is basically stock right now and waitoing on the T-81's to arrive. Once they get here, I have the upgraded idler adjuster kit from ETO. Tankcarl gave me some great pppppppics to work with and Pattoncommander and Torpedochief and Bob contributed alot of help for me to relpicate "Fireball". I know that it is not "perfect", but it is close and definitely what I was goin for. Heck brother, buy both of them and get to work already!!!:D

I am going to limit myself to two tamiya's, u.s and german, for now lol. I was going to upgrade my hl tiger, but when you factor in you need a better hull for the abuse in battle, asiatam $120, 3:1 gears $80, dbc/dbu around $120 various bits and pieces, and you still have the HL electronics, well you get the picture, not that there is anything wrong with the HL elec, but if I put a little more down I could have a tam tiger or panther, I respect what you and others have done with their HL's, I just think its more cost effective. Anyway back on topic. I also want a sherman, but those pershings are a beast and I am beginning to like them more and more, also once I do finish up my KT I am going to have it so I can switch my elmod between tanks. So the HL Tiger will be the other recipient. Most likely on the german side I will get a tam panther.

Nice! I definitely respect the oinion you have of cost efficiency. Yep, my HL Tiger cost more than a Tamiya by far, but I love that tank and don't regret it. I feel that I invested so much actually, that now I feel it's worth installed the Tamiya electrics in it.
Well, the Perhsing is a beast for sure. I start the thing up just to get my fix lol. The sound is amazing. I may actually get the Mato Sherman and elmod it. I'd like to get more familiar with elmod anyway.
I have to say that the one fear I have is I may very well have to own each and every Tamiya kit out there....that, my friends, is going to hurt ALOT!

@ Wade,
I have the tamiya Sherman M4HVSS (105). Comparing the detailing on it vs the Pershing,the Pershing is way ahead. The Shreman is fine,but there were improvements in design by the time Tamiya created the Pershing.
@ Joe, I just noticed,the vane sight on the turret is backwards, the tall part goes towards the coupola. look at some of my detail images to see the direction.

Yeah I think I might go with the pershing, I have noticed the creaking of the treads in some of the videos, and its those little things that are making me lean towards the pershing, not that, that's the only reason. It just looks mean also. plus If i would go with the sherman I want the recoil and early cast hull, and not saying I can't do it, just don't feel like it right now lol. :D

Rebellion13, go for it. You willnot regret the Pershing. Strong runner and mean is for sure. But, you will have to relpicate that cast on the turret and front and rear hull....sorry......

The Pershing cannon will recoil properly. The 105 Sherman has the whole tank back up very slightly.

If there is a seperatly available recoil unit from tamiya for the Pershing,you could find a way to mount it.

On the recoil, you can use a Pershing recoil. Somewhere on forum there was a thread on doing it. Relatively simple to do, and photos were good. I'll hunt for it later this PM.

Thanks alot Sev and Tankcarl. I would like to make it realistic. I sepnt mor etime on the Pershing than originally intended, but it was well worth the effort. Now, when the tracks arrive I'll install the Turnigy chip, track tensioner upgrades and the tracks and we'll have a finally completed Pershing. lol

Don't use the separate battery for the receiver with the Tamiya system. Look at your instructions, it's not shown. Using it may do unkind things to your system. The receiver powers off the Tam DMD/TO system. IOW you will fry the Tam system!

Tankcarl was installing his receiver battery, clearly shown in his photo. I just PM'd him about it too. Tam system powers off the DMD/TO. It clearly says in all the Tam instructions to NOT use a seperate receiver battery. On Pershing, see bottom of page 21 of instructions. You don't have yours in there, and you should not put it in. Doing so will fry the Tam system.
