You did pretty darned good there, young man! Very nice detail work. And thanks for the compliments to me about the JT, more on him shortly.
Joseph, in all seriousness, your skills are growing by leaps and bounds. You have done very well here. Keep up the good work!

Thanks alot guys. I want to live up to the standards you all set with these builds...I know I'm not there yet, but I'm coming!!:D

I'm learning a ton about these tanks and the history. Seems that all the little things make the most difference in the final outcome...I mean, I could have gued the tracks to the turret, but hell, they were expensive...and now I can actually use them as spares if need be. LOL

Yeah Joe, it looks great. Can't wait to see it in person. Spring will be here soon and we can get working on our battle field along with Bob the Commander and the other guys.

Did that little technique we talked about help you out? Funny how when you look at things that way they get easier.

Great job!!

Here's the last few guys.
Chief, your technique helped very much to plan this out. It seems like it suddenly came to me and I knew how it would look...

Dude, that's some insane work. Ya definitely have more courage than me. In fact, anyone who adds or modifies their Tamiya's have more courage and ambition than myself! The pressure would bee far too much for me, lol!All I would be able to think is, ($700, $700, $700, "Don't screw up Tony," $700, $700, $700,) Needless to say, my tank would stay factory.

ROFLMAO!!! trust me, I practiced on the HL's and gained enough confidence to do this to a Tamiya tank. I just figured for the amount of money for the kit + the quality of the finished tank, it deserves as much realism as possible...now I need to figure out how to get this 22 barrel to fit..hmmmm.

The Pershing looks good Joe. I posted it on the NEAD home page cover and I will post an updated pic of your new and better camo pattern soon. I have been off the web for a little bit because I'm busy with family obligations. I'm glad that Sevro updated Carl on the receiver battery issue. I will post some pix on Pershing wiring hygene. It is very tight in the M26. Eliminating the speaker box is a very viable option that I have used before. I have build several Pershings and each on seems to have its own personallity. They are quirky buggers. I'll post some pix that may help some of you guys out. Now lets get that baby out of the battlefield joe and git er done.

Hey Bob!! Glad to see you online. Thanks for the kind words. I know you liked the desert camo, but I had to make this tank my way. I agree it's very tight. I have done nothing with the wiring as of yet, but I do plan to mess with it a bit when I have time.

Hello,Bob.
Loving the wire tuck job you did on your Pershing. Inever thought to spin the upper unit 180. That gets those "servo" connections well out of the way.
I just recently clipped and combined my power leads, I have gotten them to go from 4 to 2 leads into the tank side connector, and it saved a lot of space, I will spin my electronics,
And see if that gains a bit more room. I was toying with putting the on off switch up in the turret,at the loader's hatch , like on the Sherman.
I might get some channel stock styrene, from Evergreen or Plastruc, and glue over the wiring on the inner surface of the upper hull, rather than the silver tape. I never am sure how long that tape will remain sticky.
Thanks for some great ideas.
Carl

Hi Guys,

Those are some nice looking Pershings guys. keep up the fine work. Are you going to make it to the NEAD battle day on April 11th. Joe. I want to see if that M26 battles as nicely as it looks.....LOL. If any of the other Pershing owners can make it send me a PM or email. We are just outside of NYC (northwest) in northern NJ. I sold my most recently finished M26 on Ebay and it is on its way to Michigan.

"That tank is beautiful!!!" Tanks are only beautiful when drenched in mud. I do have to get a new battery,I have an old Tamiya niCad,which does not hold a chrage as long as it used to.
Li Ions better at 7.2v?

Oh, I think the M-26 will be there brothers! Only problem is you won't be able to hit her in battle...no battle system installed lol

Panther G 03-31-2010 09:33 PM

RE: Tamiya Pershing in progress...

The system is installed, all you have to to is get the TBU, Apple and harness. AAF Tank Museum, Karen has them.

RE: Tamiya Pershing in progress...

That's what I meant to say greg...I don't have the battle system parts yet
