ive had a hyper st rtr and it was a great truggy but the engine is junk,i now have a 8t race roller and its brilliant.if you are getting an rtr version get the 8t,it has a spektrum radio and a decent engine.

Im leaning to towards the 8t better quality and also by the time I change the radio on the hyper would be a lot more cash than the 8ight

Your comparing a Eight-t RTR to a Hyper ST Pro kit? Humm Well if you have no gear get the Eight-T RTR as that is one of the better if not best RTR out. If you have the gear and can get a kit. Get the Hyper ST Pro. You won't be disappointed. I had same decision. I went with the Hyper ST pro and haven't looked back.

We get it here, it comes with the SH .28 8 Port, which basically is a LRP .28 if im not wrong.
Not sure what it comes with there.
I got both, the Pro + the RTR. I have yet to come across a reason to build up my Pro kit, my RTR serves me fine.
Any local parts support for the two.? Which parts could you get at your LHS.?
I love my Hyper, I banged my head when I was choosing it, I got it locally for the same price that I could get an 8ight T from A Main. Havent regretted my decision one bit.
But like SpikeIt said, if you have the gear ( Good engine + radio ), go Hyper ST, if your just starting out, 8ight T. Comes with the best radio + engine for an RTR if im not wrong.
In the end, make sure your happy with what you buy....

I have a friend with a hyper PRO. I've never seen a 8ight run, but i hear about them breaking things all the time. Mainly A-Arms. Only thing the hyper has ever broken were c-hubs, BUT! It was the thinner RTR c-hubs because it was one of the FIRST pro's and had 1.5mm C-Hubs. You can buy the pro hubs if you get that problem, or replace them with KYOSHO hubs. Those will NEVER EVER EVER break

I went 8T RTR and spent another $100 thanks to Ebay and is pretty much the same as the Pro version bar chassis.
8T is light, agile and great Spectrum receiver. I have now had to upgrade the Mach 427 to an LRP .28 which is awesome, a completely different car now with so much torque! However the 427 Mach is one awesome stock engine that requires minimal work and tuning to keep it going. I ran 2 Gallons through mine before I had a run away and it seized, but thanks to another $40 buck's I will have it back up and running as a spare.
People have also said the 8T is not that tough, I beat mine up every weekend with some crazy jumps and tumbles on both the front and rear and it still keeps going. I spent all this money on spares and have never used a single one thanks to the durability of this, one thing I am due to replace is the clutch shoes as these do wear quite quickly but a cheap upgrade for longevity.
Good luck!

What engine comes with the Pro RTR again.?

that doesn't make any sense, as Hobao has their own engine line
I am not doupting you tho...If you say its an SH 28 its an SH 28........ I just assumed your were confusing the Hyper Mach 28 as a SH built engine...

Found a few pics from the day I got it.
SH .28 P3. I think the LHS swaps it out. Could be why they also sell the engine boxed...

Just double - checked. The same engine comes when you buy the Hong Nor X1 CR/CRT RTR.

Oh..almost forgot..The way that Hyper holds the receiver pack is lame..most other companies chose to have a more secure location (and more protected)..I'm just shocked they did not just hang it off the rear and call it a "traction enhancer"..[X(]

I Like the Hyper Truggy...The battery doesn't bother me too much, the fuel tank sucks badly tho, the brakes need attention, Truggy is heavier then others.......... But the Hyper drives amazing, feels much lighter then it is, has the best turn in of any Truggy I have driven, very predictable and without question the easiest to drive Truggy I have encountered... As well this Truggy requires much less clutch mainteneance then any other machine I have encountered, the chassis is extremely rigid in the center which greatly reduces clutch bearing strain...... The Hyper is not perfect but for the average Joe racer I can't think of a better machine... easy to setup, easy to handle, way less clutch maintenance, all around a very good package....... I have had a MBX5T since the day they came out, I love my Mugen but my Hyper kicks its ass on the track.....The Hyper has a gigantic turning advantage over the Mugen, much easier to drive also !

Super, if your brakes are a bit too soft.
Get the Racers Edge High Temp ones of A Main, and use with part #88048 ( Just use the calipers ). Should lock up all 4 wheels with any servo with over 4 - 5 KGS of torque..
