Went into HPI web site today and realise that the HELLFIRE SS is been put under Discontinue. Why is it so.... Is it because its not a good Truck or wat?[:o]

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

HPI EUROPE still continue HF SS & MT2 SS+
http://www.hpieurope.com/kits.php?lang=en&cat=n-off

Due to the HPI USA also discontinued the MT2SS+....

I think HPI USA will switch to sell RTR version trend ......... like Traxxas.

He is going to bring to my house this weekend. I am pretty sure I am going to buy it. I talked to him yesterday and he said it runs and servos worked. He just wants out of nitro trucks. His loss is my gain I guess. Looking forward to chattin with you guys, with all of your tips and tricks. I promise I won't be annoying. Thanks for all of the replies.

seriously? you're telling him to check for issues for $75??? I'd say take it and run, for what you're getting it for, you'll be able to afford to replace anything that's jacked up on it.....

i have a quick question for anybody. how long does the diff oils last in the diffs cos they are brand new and i have only run the hellfire twice and all the diffs are emty.
they leak a lot through the shafts, i have put them together properly with grease. it just seems a lot of maintinance.

i payed £80 for my ss on ebay. you have a bargin and parts are cheap on ebay aswell

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

kyosho p6 orings should stop the badly leaking diffs caused by the standard orings.

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

There will probably be oil around your diff outdrives.
Open the diff up by removing the 4 screws that hold the crown gear/spur gear to the diff cup and check oil. Only 3/4 fill the diff cup with oil.
Are the 2 screw heads stripped? If so you can dremel a slot in top of screw and use a straight head screw driver to remove screw.

Afraid not, I just had that one race then got my first Job after uni down in London. Down here there is nothing, and I'm also working 7 days a week so not even finding time to bash! Hopefully once I'm a bit more settled here I will try to find a track and maybe try some weekend racing again. At the moment its a shelf queen on my wardrobe collecting dust, and I can't bring myself to sell. A shame but there's nothing I can do about it yet!

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

I am having some problems with my clutch bell overheating due to the clutch slipping. I have just done the port mods to the 4.6ho and also some other mods to the crank and sleave while I was going (realy made the engine impressive). I have upgraded the clutch bell to a 16 tooth to get good topend speed and slow the wheel spin down a bit but the standard clutch isn't handling the extra power from about half throttle on. Would I be better going to alloy clutch shoes or what would be the best shoes to use? Is there any other tricks I can try?

Hi guys, i need help[&o]. was running my hellfire yesterday. After awhile i felt that there is a loss of power, thinking that it might be the over heating that causes it, ibrought the car back to pit . After awhile i cant fire up the truck. Then change to a new OS no8 glow plug and it can be fire up. After runing for a while it dies off. and cant be fire up again. Change to a new plug it fire up and dies off again after a while......Check both plug and find that its not glowing any more. Look like every new plug i pop in will only fire up and then there goes the plug.

Wat is the problem with my sts engine?
could it be the plug?
have i blow my engnie?
am running to lean ,i can hardly see smoke trail, and my car is very powerfull, it about 2turn from close.

Please advice.

hard to say your engine still alive or not.

rotate the flywheel check the engine compression first

RE: Official HPI Hellfire Thread

YAp. rotated the fly wheels and it got stuck and with a bit of forch to make it turn again. there is a pop sound .

Hi, I believe you are running too lean.
This is what happen to my friend picco engine before it blow off.
Please look into it seriously.
That is nothing wrong with plug or anythings.

So wat can i do now?

kyo crane 09-27-2008 09:17 AM

So wat can i do now?
Well, firstly check the compression of the engine by turnning the flywheel (using hand).
Normally you will hear a pop sound when it make a full cycle, during turnning by hand, when the piston about to reach the top you will find it hard to turn due to compression.
If it fine, then you are safe. Look at the engine manual for the high end niddle, turn half a round to one round anti-clock wise to make it rich.
Start the engine, and start to tune again. If there's nitro spill out or shoot out form the pipe, it too rich. lean it by turnning 1/8 at a time to get the correct position.
by the way you can study this link as they teach you how to tune. But this is just a guidline, different engine have different character.
