[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXL353&P=V]This charger [/link] will work. Its another 10 bucks, check around on other sites (amiain ect) might have them cheaper.

Is your servo saver binding?

revo7617 05-23-2007 02:59 PM

RE: Offical Mugen MBX5T thread

maniac... nop, not binding... it runs smooth, no friction...

RCaeroguy... they are Htec metal servos 645... 133oz, always used this servo for my revo, and matrix buggy... (more than a year ago.. and used only for racing..as well as my 5T)

There's your problem. That servos a piece of crap. Get a Hitech 5955TG. Problem solved

I wouldn't exactly say your servo is a piece of crap but a 645MG is a little under sized for a truggy. You're really going to want a better servo than that. A 5955TG or 5995TG are two excellent examples.

Ya I agree, you want something strong for steering. Trucks take alot of pressure on steering. I got a thunder tiger DS1015. Metal housing, metal gears, 200 oz torque and killer turning speed.

This is great, I got my mbx5t now and I can join this forum. So sick of reading about stampede's, T-maxx's and revo's. so happy I finally got rid of my revo.

Welcome abord grandrevonational
Servo with 200oz torque or more will work. I bought a jr digatal with 180oz torque and its holding up. I thought my airtronics 94758z was going out and the jr was all the track had. I used to much loctite on the servo steering arm that caused it to work the servo pretty hard. I now have 2 steering servos.
Ah the little things...lol

RE: Offical Mugen MBX5T thread

OK, I agree maybe its a little undersize, but I NEVER experienced a stripped gear in my revo or buggy and my MT is sick fast and no problem turning the 40 series wheels.

But my question still.... How should I tune my servosaver...?????? I forgot mentioned the second servo I striped is a Futaba S9351 High-Torque.

Hey guys, gotta quick question. How far do you bury the threads of the pillow ball into the (front) A-arms? It seems to get a little hard to turn them in and I don't wanna break something before I even drive it. :D

RE: Offical Mugen MBX5T thread

The less thread is showing, the more forgiving the servo saver is. In a hit, it will absorb the impact more, but in harder hits, it might damage the servo. Gives worse steering response than with it tighter.

It could also be that your servo saver isn't working properly. Check that as well

I'm sorry, but holy f'ing ****. That is amazing. I've seen my fair share of paintjobs, but I have to say, that is the best that I have ever seen. Ever.

hey,Im supposed to buy a new truggy..Money is not a problem..do you recommend a truggy better than The MBX5T Prospec..and it will be good with a Nova N528XR Hott Mod or it will be a way overpowered and components will break..thx

I've run the 528XR in my 5T a few times, but it's not a very good match with the truck. The 528 has lots of low end torque, so you wind up with tons of wheel spin and stability issues at slow speeds, and just an average pull at high rpms. The 528 makes good top end for a .28, but it's not the same as a smaller, lighter 21. My 8T with a Speed V-Spec .21 is faster than the 5T with the 528 everywhere, even on pavement, since it doesn't overpower the tires as much and it's lighter. Tires also last at least twice as long with the .21. Losi 8T with a strong .21 is my favorite truggy, you should look at that combo as well as the 5T.

Almost half the people at the track i've seen runs a 5T with a Boss 28T Engine and the first places seemed to be held by them in events

RcRacer37E 05-26-2007 09:57 AM

RE: Offical Mugen MBX5T thread

Any good 21 will power the 5T, modded or non modded. My mamba 21 hot mod runs with any on the track and I get 10 plus minute run time. 90% of the truggies at my track are the kyosho (local driver is sponsored by them) I'm the only 5T.
I finished 2nd last night 2 sec behind leader, I think hes running the 528 and passing him isnt an issue. I got hung up on the table top on the last turn and he got by for the win.
IMO, a 28 is more for a monster truck, the truggies are pretty light (lsp excluded).

MBX5T Maniac 05-26-2007 01:17 PM

RE: Offical Mugen MBX5T thread

A .21 not only is faster than a .28, but it is also more fuel efficient. A nice RB C6 or V-Spec in a lighter truggy like the 8ight-T and the MBX5T is plenty of power for them, and another benefit is that it puts less strain on the entire drivetrain.
