Which gas engines fit IN the cowl best?
Any photos of the install would be great. Im gathering info for consideration and concealing the head and spark plug is a high priority.

I used ty cockpit kit for this model and it fitted fine seeing as it is designed for this model. I used no additional reinforcements. It is a little bit of work, but then again so would any other cockpit kit.

Good luck

Thanks

Like clockwork!!

I'm onto my 15-20th liter of fuel thought it and I need to take the cowl off to lean it out a little more. it has gotten significantly stronger as it has bedded in. Would love to get another one to put into another model, but I'm busy playing with my next german project that doesn's spin a prop for power

Thanks

dave

Dave, +1 to Ticketec. I built and installed the Tys cockpit. I did a build thread at RCSB.
http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...TID=21256&PN=1

Good kit for sport scale but needs quite a bit of work. There is also a Youtube video for installation by Ty.

If you want something more scale then take a look at Iflytailies.com They offer great cockpit kits and details.

Chris, I think the XYZ would be the best solution but it is real close. Its a twin so it will vibrate less. I think it only fits because the molded cowl flaps are partially open. In retrospect, I think I would have did the XYZ. I put in the DLE 55 and the head sticks out the bottom by about 1.5 inches. Not too bad but still unsightly if you want to go for the clean look. Ticketec has tons of experience with it and I think he was the first to install one in this plane.

thanks Jason,
has anybody ever tried to fit a cockpit kit from http://www.iflytailies.com/store/ins...uct-4774050365 into an ESM FW 190 D9; I am asking that because I used their kit in a Carf p-51 mustang and it required a little modification because i had the 1/4 scale version cockpit kit and carf p-51 isnt 1/4 scale, so i had to trim a little :

Jim,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure what the temp is. I have it turned up about 3/4. Take it slow and don't rush it. You don't want to push through. The cowl flaps were fun and work great. They really add to the realism.

For the iflytailies cockpit it says on the site that you may have to trim a little to get the correct fit.
