I have a question since so many here were talking about Zenoahs. I used to have mine serviced by B&B, and had a Z26 ready to be sent out when mr Bennett passed away. Do you know any other place that services Zenoahs and have reasonable prices?
Thank you
Gerry

GerKonig, I just sent 2 G26 to Horizon Hobby...they replaced the cranks, bearings, and repaired the carbs from crash damage. All this work on both for $200. Bob Bennett is definitely a loss to our hobby.[]

RE: ESM FW D-9
I got a little work done on the Dora over the weekend. I mounted the flaps and installed the links to the flying surfaces. Need to fine tune the flaps a bit, but that isa detail. I have (I guess needless to say) decided to drop the redplastic wheel wells. I haveglassed the wheel wellsand will paint them next.
Does anyone know what colourthe wellsare supposed to be?
I did a little bit of painting on the cockpit, too. Still a lot of details to be worked out, but one gets the idea. I probably have not been very accurate with the colours, butthe walkaround literature I have a my disposal shows all sorts of colour schemes in the cockpit.
As far as wheels are concerned, I think I will go with the Williams brothers 4 1/2". I did get a quote from Glennis. While their products are superb, the price made my stomach turn.
Next up is installing the engine (DLE55) and the retracts.

In previous post, I used the 5-1/4 Glennis wheels. Like mentioned, a little trimming did the trick! Have you considered the SIST wheels at $150???

I did, and contacted Stephan about it. Unfortunately, they are out of the wheels, as are Fighteraces. No reply from Sierra. Also, no cigar on the spinner. Sist had one with a diameter of 126 mm, which I deemed to large. The opening in the front of the cowling is 140mm. I was therefere thinking about a spinner more in the range 110-114mm.
Ram, what is the diameter of your spinner?

Unfortunately my friend, they're spoken for, my Holman Dora I've been working on for too long now is getting the last set i have. If I dump one of my doras, I'll give you an awesome deal on a set. I do have a very rare set of Glennis wheels that are under construction from Glennis in future works, the six holed Anton wheels in 5-1/4. I had planned to use them on my Dave platt FW but I'm using a set of SIST wheels on her due to version change.

Let me know if you want to part with the six holed Anton wheels if you have them there, because of my anal tendencies to be full out in scale ever time I would drop the gear with the Williams Bros wheels and don’t get me wrong there ok there would be this cringe from me lol think you know where im coming from cheers ps dont dump its not a good look and i know you have put a lot in to them [:-]

Yeah, I hear you. I only say dump due to the laws of physics. What goes up must come down and not always as you planned it[&o] I've lost several FW's like this. One after two years of building all to lose her on the maiden.[:@]I'll pm you on the wheels and send some pictures, they're still mounted on the Anton for now.

Hey stick mode, I'll have to meet you when my family comes there to visit her other family (aunts and so on) in Auckland, north shore, Birkenhead. Maybe you can throw a rock through their window before we get there..lol you can show me the flying fields.

RE: ESM FW D-9
Here is another update on the cockpit painting.
The white bits you see cut out are for the added details I'm putting on. The round item with the serations around the outside is for the artifical horizon. The Fw-190 had that very distictive look about them. What I did was to draw them up and them up on th computer and them sending them to my vinyl cutter. Seeing as my vinyl cutter handles the 0.005" plastic well, I just cut three of them, laminated them together and then attached them to the instrument. the other two items are for the cutout on the hood. The full size has two stiffening plates riveted to the cutouts.
As for the painting. I have done the base RLM66 paintwork, and Have done the first past at highlights. I'll paint the various details next, and then gloss clear coat them so I can do a bit more weathering on them, before finally clearing them with a flat.
Thanks
dave
