ticketec , didn't you know you're supposed to use the Hogan's Hero's theme when you do a German plane video?
Here is another good warbird sound-track. Especially for german ones;

Was that a landing [:-] words like arrival, dump, wack, come to mind interesting to watch built like the preverbal sh%t house to take that landing having taken all covering off the wing before filling gaps under wing and glassing i can tell you i was very impressed with the kit build inside where you cant see it normaly

Hey Stick Mode, lets see your progress. I want to do the same at some point but I have to many other projects on my plate. I need to add another thousand or so rivets to another Dora and find the time to sand my Vailly Anton and re-mount the engine for it's primer flight.

Like cheese good things take time im at a bit of a cross roads waiting for parts to come in retracts motor spinner are here waiting on cockpit kit ty canopy etc to arrive and pilot. Wing is glassed top and bottom but am waiting for a mate in the states who knows Santa to arrange the Glennis wheels as I don’t want to fit retracts with out some centring of the 5/14 wheel just about to do stab which will get the same treatment as the wing then it will be panel lines in undercoat hope to get it to the stage of undercoat and flying with moving canopy etc back in for rivets weathering paint etc wrecked my head picking a scheme for the D9 ended up with this evolves a lot of washes to get the effect but I like it so that’s what im hoping to end up with. Like that mate of mine in the states[:-] I take to many on at once ( you will not build or buy any more stick ) “yeh sure†lol in reflection there will be very little left of the original ESM kit by the time she’s up and flying have managed to find yet another source of spinners http://www.sdshobby.net/ see pic the other one is from flint skin if you want and need one grab them as they come and go fast and they do fit the xyz 52 spot on . Of the subject RAM >>>did the maiden on my vigilante jet last week end >>>legs still recovering >>>fast would be one word' then there’s another I need to finish (addiction) never>>> really Doctor I’m normal

Too funny..lol. That looks really good!! My bird is sitting at a friends hanger. He's seriously considering one now and wants the same details as are one mine but I'm pushing him into a D11 like the one that was under construction until the hanger midair and selling of it. You know how it is when these arfs spoil you but you end up doing just as much to them as if it were a kit! Yeah, I'll admit, the ME109 bug bit me and I'm now considering another kit... I have plenty of FW190's to last me

Awesome work and I like the version.

Hey Guy's,

Thanks for all the kind comments about the flying Sorry to disappoint, but I've never flown pattern, I just work hard at trying to make sure I fly my warbirds accurately and smooth. When I started flying r/c, one of the instructors gave me a gem of advise that has stuck with me since. Anyone can fly, but not everyone can fly smoothly...

Well, the next first for me and this model is on the video below! this is only the first version of programming and I'll be finishing the body in the next few days and then I'll have another crack at the movements but here it is!!!!

Thanks

WOW!!! Just finished reading the thread and if a guy can't complete with full detail this D9, then yhey need to purchase a complete one. [8D]
I've been back and forth with a few warbird choices and the Dora is my pick. Thanks for all the work and info you guys have put out for us newbies
to giant Scale Warbirds, and especially to Ty and others who take the time to make enhanced detailed components for the lazy or weak at mind builders.

Now for Jimmy, You ought not to put to much time into your P40 or P47 or what ever cause its gonna get a lock on it's six that can't be shaked and put down in smoke.

I like Cascade, but that's a tasmanian beer.... we don't consider them Aussies (if there are any tassie's reading this thread, that should get them fired up!)

I'm in the north east and we got flooded earlier in the year. luckily were I live there was no flooding but everything was shutdown for 3-5 days because of all the floods....

Thanks

dave

I got the XYZ 53cc running today.

After replacing the ignition with RcExl ignition, and the carb with a G-38 carb, it didnt get any better.

Suddenly I got an idea. They sendt 3 sparkplugs with the engine. It looked to me like there was
never ignition on one of the cylinders, so I replaced that with the 3'rd one. Didnt help much.

But today, I saw that it is the same type on a DL-50 I have on the shelf. I replaced the same
plug with the one from the DL-50. That helped!

Now it is running at least as long as the petrol I put directly into the carb lasts.

So now I will try to go back to the G-38 carb. Seems I am gonna get this cute little engine running after all!!

hehe.

Those spark-plugs they send with the engine; They have a spark as long as you have them outside the engine, looking at them.
But the two faulty ones obviously have no spark as soon as they are put under pressure.

I think Murphy is the name of the foreman on this spark-plug factory. And therefore giving a few chosen ones lots of trouble.
Too bad they do not send proper sparkplugs with this engine.

Lots of Chinese engines come with low quality CM6 imitation spark plugs that don't work very well. Some actually get the China plugs to work but as rule toss the plug and get NGK CM-6 or Denso U20MU. The XYZ 53 sold at Octopus RC actually includes CM6 plugs now.

Kwik did the WT-338 carb have the same size opening as the intake? Seems like you would have better luck with the DL-50 carb. You can actually get a DLE55 carb from Tower for pretty cheap.

He, thats a good tip, Blake! I have a DL-50 on the shelf, and this DL-50 is running like a little monster-machine.

Will try the DL-50 carb now....

Update; YES, running now!

So, end of fault finding revealed;

1) Use new CM-6 spark plugs.

2) Replaced Carb. with a DL-50 Carb.

Puh !
