Hi Prekin. Yes, please. I had a Ziroli B-25 that had a mid air and is now gone. It was a great flying plane. Someday i hope to do another one.

I got a Wing mfg B25 that is built and has flight metal started on it. All glassed. Gear doors and wiring ran through out for servos. Has Robart retracts for it (less the main gear struts and support valves ) All other parts there to finish the thing less engines. Was set up for OS 91's I might be interested in trading it off. I want to finish it but just got tons of other projects to do right now.

Congratulations #1 on the continual growth of the Brotherhood! You and our brother Spitfire fans must be doing something right!

Please enjoy the included copy of the Spitfire fun I am having on "Facebook's Finest Hour."

Okay, let's have some real fun! Here goes!

It's not nice to tamper with "CALL TO GLORY!" Just today I found out why the first "thorium plasma battery URL" located near the top of the first page of my CALL TO GLORY web site was providing such inconsistent results. It turns out that a hidden URL became visable on my obsolete web tv unit and must have been the problem, so I promptly deleted it - no more trouble at the moment. It's amazing how dirty tricks can work so well to suppress truth. Googling "Spitfire Brotherhood CALL TO GLORY" (don't use quotation marks) brings up my now perfectly (I hope) working evangelistic web site with all the bells and whistles, and of course, airplanes.

See how the "Queen's fighter planes" are a part of the unstoppable values juggernaut that will grind fascism into powder! Long live the Queen! Yes, I have become a de facto Brit and will remain so for the duration! TALLY-HO!

''mad thorium batteries'' typed in Yahoo and/or Google brings up some great information about thorium plasma batteries.

Hello CCostant,

Great pics of your Spitfire. Was wondering what engine you used in it, . . . and what mods you had to effect to get the retracts in there. Mine still sits in its' box, not made it to the building table yet.

Thanx

I'd like to join the brotherhood. I just finished my build of a discontinued Dynaflite Spitfire 81" as well. ccostant is a member of my club. He was able to squeeze in a DLE-30 into his Dynaflite Spitfire. I know this, because I bought his OS-160FX that he originally had in there, for my Spitfire. That was his last glow-fuel plane. His fleet is completely converted to gas now. As for the retracts, we reversed them from the original plans to make them more like the original Spitfire. He took it one step further and made his retracts more scale by putting them in the same place the real spitfires have them. I'll let him give you the details on the mods he made, but all I can say is (1) some cutting in the main spar was involved, and (2) They came out incredible.

Hi Steve, next year we are flying formation with the Spits at WOD. Along with Jimmy B and Jimmy R we can have 4 dynaflite spits flying formation.

As Dweeb7944 has said I was able to squeeze a DLE30 with a JTEC wrap around muffler into the spit. Now with the new DLE35 rear exhaust it should be even easier to do. As for the retract position you will need to redo the bottom spar in the wing. The top spar can remain completely untouched. I had to bridge the bottom spar together at the wheel opening. The wheel opening is 4.5" to allow for 4" wheels and connecting up the bridge on each side the wheel opening is another 2". So the bridge piece of the spar is a 8.5" long piece of 1/4" ply shaped with a 1/2 round wheel opening on the forward side and angled off on the rear side with the width of the bridge no less than 1" at any point. Then I just sheeted over that. The wing is still open frame top and bottom behind the spars. You might be worried about comprising the strength of the spar but I can tell you it's plenty strong. I've had the spit in many, many, many high speed dives the the DLE30 wide open without a problem. The only down side to the retract position is you will need to add nose weight to get the CG right.

A big welcome to all the new brothers from me as well.
It's great to see so many fellow spitfire enthusiasts.

My Hangar 9 Spitfire build is 80% done.
The robostruts are in and I like the look. I love the shock action. I may need it.
I am waiting for the pilot figure yet. Thats why the canopy has not been properly fastened down.
I had my brother in law make me a rotol logo for the blades, as the one I made, on the prop right now,
is not going to cut it.
All that's left to do is a few more rivets on the left fuselage and the flat clear coat.
I am researching ppg flat flex'n clear urethane 2 part paint right now.
Everything else out of spray cans did not pass my isopropyl alcohol test.
If rubbing alcohol softens the clear, then 15% nitro will eat it.

Anyway, I thought I will upload some updated pictures. My Spitty has seen the
first sunlight at -5c and snow.
Hopefully this white stuff won't stay too long.

Wishing all the brothers a

"Happy and properous New Year"

Andreas
Happy building and flying
