Has anyone ever noticed when you make a post on this site if your near the end it will say your on the next page but the post you made is still on the page befor, so when you go to that page it says that it has been removed?????
When I first had this happen I thought I had done something wrong, I think they still have some glitches to work out on this site? THIS IS WHAT JUST HAPPEN TO ME NOW

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
Alright after having some input this evening from all three sites it looks like the motion I'm getting is correct.
NOW there will be some tricky lining up of the brass ribs and soldering them just where they need to be
And a few more test be for gluing in the actuator & ribs.
Have a look at both FLAPS just set in place and the amount of throw I'm getting and the drawing it really shows the gaps and the angle of the FLAPS.

Weight doesn't seem to be my issue at the moment making this work is a bigger concern
my plane will weigh more than Brians but my engines are almost twice the power of the ones he used and I have strengthened most of the wing design and made it two pieces I would rather have stronger than lighter.

Very nice as usual.
Can see that you're not trying to save weight anywhere in this Bruce.

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito 81
THEcorrect the hinge pivot point is 1/4" below the skin surface
this is a very tricky bugger to get working properly there are a lot of variables
going on here.
I knew this was going to be a challenge this was one of the reasons
I waited to do this later in the build and w/ me making my own custom actuator it
just adds to it.
Not having drawn this up on CAD I have to work through problems by trial and error, the biggest thing right now is getting the correct travel on the servo arm
to get full FLAPS and back to neutral.
So I'm still working on it, I've made some red marks on the drawing to try and help you other guys understand better and placed a
ruler in spots to show the gap size and hing pivot points.
Still trying to make it work well

Hello Bruce,
Your Mossie is coming along very nicely indeed. Every time I watch that video of Jerry's Mossie, I get more excited about wanting to see it in person. I'm hoping it is on it's way here by now............... Maybe when it arrives, you can take a day trip and come down when it is time for it to fly. You're not too far away.
Keep up the great work on your Mossie ajd I'll keep watching......

Glad to see you doing a little bit more work on your Mossie. I don't know how you or other people can work on more than one kit at a time. The only thing I'd succeed in doing is make a mess out of both of them.................
BTW, the Air Show is May 17-19

hrrcflyer...Thanks for the dates were looking forward to this, Having both planes set up to work on has been my goal all along the reason for this for me is when I hit a part I ndde to think about I'll jump to the other build while think. That way I always have something to work on I almost started a third pland but thought better of it. When I was running the mill shop I always had 4-5 projects going at any given time or really large muilty phase projects, yep it's fun checking over the drawings and telling the draftsman/ architecs there stuff wont work in the feild. There's always things you can't for see in the drawings that have to be worked out while building. BUT IT'S ALWAYS BEST TO HAVE DRAWINGS BE FOR STARTING ANY BUILD OF ANY KIND.

Bruce,
"yep it's fun checking over the drawings and telling the draftsman/ architecs there stuff wont work in the field"
In all my years of being a union Glazier, that is something I always enjoyed. I've had plenty of engineers tell me "well that's how I drew it, so that's how I want it built..."
They live on a piece of paper that they draw....actually building something in the "real world" can be completely different. I banged heads with an engineer on the Trump towers so bad, I thought he was going to get fired lol.

Got to love them ENGINEERSI think it should be a mandantory for them to go work in the field there designing for for a few years so they can see how things realy work.
BUT THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

Prekin... Thank you for the at a boy, but I'm not sure what your asking me how long it took me to make the mechanism? or how long I did professional work?
The mechanism is still a work in progress and I've worked in the cabbinet making trade 30 years but I have also worked w/ just about every kind of material there is and with lots
tools & machines.

Hi splinterz,
I like your flaps mechanism. It is really professional work! How long did you do it?
