This stuff was demonstrated at TOLEDO 2012. I have not tried it as of yet but it looks like it might be worth trying. I know you have to do a light skim coat on the bare wood and let completely dry first or you may get some warpage. It is water based.

I'll have a look at this stuff speedy thanks..

Careful with 'unproven' methods. I'm not saying the product doesn't work. But its water based. Is that what we want on wood? Maybe it will work just fine, maybe. If it does everything if fine. If not then what? Then you are left with a mess or worse. Just a thought.

OK, so now I am curious, they show it in what appears to be a clear bottle, but state; "Eze-Kote is a 1- part water based resin alternative to epoxy that cures (with light) to a tough resistant film"

Clear bottle...1 part that cures with light...seems like it will be hard to get out of the bottle!

with all the talk of stripping the plane doown and glassing it, who will be the 1st to bash the plane into a D9 or Ta-152 version? I mean, what would it take? a collar for the fuse extension, anoher firewall former and a cowl that probably already exists on the market......uhmmmmm

Way too much trouble considering there are plenty of these aircraft available. Would be easier to bash an ESM D9 into the TA 152

I could see doing something like that to a Dave Platt or Holman FW190.. But not this...Just me. Also with designers like JG about to release that awesome TA152 of theirs.. for close to the same price of this ARF (even though the TA is an kit).

I mean, if you're going to do the work like that, it might as well be on something accurate or close to.

I am knee deep in my Andersen TA 152 build now. It is by far, the most complicated wing I have built to date. Just framed up 2nd panel two days ago, planning for a Spring maiden.

you Colorado guys love your German birds. Grimmace , did nt know about your TA, what scale is it? Ramstein, I think you are your own flugswerk out there. How many German birds do you own? I am sure someone will take that chance, wont be me. I can see someone just buying a spare fuse from Tower and having at it......it was just one of those randome terets moment that my brain latched onto.

I'm flying my Platt 190A, Sist 190A, Topflite 190D9, ESM 190A, ESM 190D9, and a Platt 190A, Holman 190D9 and skyshark D9 under the works. Not to mention the four FW190 foamies..

At some point, I'll start my Anderson TA152 and Hopefully the captured P-47 razorback. But I have a funny feeling that someone here (not saying any names) will have me building a Meister 190A for them instead..

Just a little addicted..

Try these 2 links. Maybe it will clear some things up about this stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQJ-mkoYQIo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32yNf...eature=related

First coat to seal wood. Let dry and sand off fuzz. Apply cloth and brush second coat through the cloth. Looks like a typical FG or silk and dope application.

Product is used straight out of the bottle and is very light when dried.

I'm going to try it on my next warbird project.

Rambro, did you ever fly that Mig 3?! Yep, all German here right now other than the Mig 3. My TA 152 is 1/5th scale. 114". Using G62 on can, and a 90 degree manifold to tuck it all nicely inside the plane. Sliding canopy, operating cowl flaps (with thermostat to open and close with engine temp!). This one will be for scale competition, and will be the 2nd prototype GH+KT, with the round wingtips.
I also have a little Pica 190 D9, and a 1/5th Holman 190 D9 I got from Ramm earlier this summer. If all goes well, I will have another Fokker DR1 triplane by next summer as well, as I crashed mine at WBOTR last year.
Pic of my refinished Mig 3 and Pica D9. You need to get that Mig 3 of yours to WBOTR next year Rambro, I need someone to fly with!

Grimmace, it seems we parallel each other in our . The Mig is still awaiting its maiden. I had planned on making it to WBOR but the planets just did nt line up ....again. But I currently have a Zirolli Stuka ready for next yrs event, the Mig3...I willbe finishing my Meister 109 for next yrs event. The fun part of this hobby is I maybe trading my Zirolli Skyraider for the Meister 190D9 kit@ 1/4scale I believe. I could show up there with a complete Axis airforce. Stuka, 109, 190A5 and D9, Macchi 200, Mig 3 and of course your normal compliment of Allied planes. I just need to get some stick time in. The d9 I own now is an IMP model and the A5 ids the platt model

Ramstein, in order to feed your addiction;

Have a look at this one;

It is Ta 152's Dave Platt Fw 190, Ingeborg, Herdla JG-5, attacking;

Nice. I've admired that one for some time. I like how dirty it is. Did you see the later TA152C he did from a Platt kit..

Fliteskin, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9911506/tm.htm . I think many people like me are on the list to receive one. Then, there's David Anderson Designs..

On his website he has it listed to add to your cart. It is not cheap, but the fuselage would save a lot of time. I am going to bet the Fliteskin wing will be infinitely easier to build than the Andersen wing. For me it has been like unraveling a puzzle. The Andersen is essentially a scratch build with no instructions. Fliteskin has a good rep for nice assembly.

Happy landings!!
