Default advice on Giant scale Zirolli Hellcat elevator setup

Hello Fellas, wanted to get some advice, I purchased a giant scale Zirolli Hellcat late last year, it is the composite fuselage. It was close to completion but not finished before the builder passed away. I have been going over it and updating a lot of things, mainly all the servos radio setup, and air system, as well as swapping in a DA-100 over the 70cc twin he had in it. All in all The builder did what I believe to be a fantastic job on the plane, My only concern is for the rear setup on the plane. The elevators are tied together with some kind of tie bar, cant really see it, I have pulled on the elevators in opposite directions, to make sure there is no play, and they are rock solid tied together. He built the plane using a single 1/4 scale servo at like 160-180 oz cant remember to run the elevators and rudder, I swapped the elevator and rudder servo out for some savox metal gear 450 oz. servos mounted to some 1/4 AC plywood plates in place of those 1/4 servos. He was moving the elevator and rudder with these fiberglass dave brown pushrods about 35 inches long with metal rods on the end.
This brings my question to you guys, with the 450 oz servo on a common elevator and the Dave brown pushrod, is this setup strong enough? The pushrod passes through two formers but does not touch them, so both the elevator and rudder pushrods are un-supported for the length of them from front to back. The plane has a 96' wingspan, and I'm guessing is gonna weigh around 40lbs. ISH. I have read others that say this setup will be fine, and have another buddy who believes I should cut the tie bar and make it a split elevator setup with a servo for each elevator, while another says I should mount a servo in each stab for the elevator. I did not build the plane but whoever did seems to done a very nice job, I don't see him going this far and then making a mistake that can be so critical on something like the elevator control, but I am not sure, so I am asking,, thanks fellas
Ronnie

That was the way it was done and it worked for a long time so I don't see why it wouldn't work now.

If it were me, and I was building one from scratch, I'd use small MKS or Torq servos in the stabs, but with the level of completion you have, I'd finish it like you said and fly it. That's just my 2 cents.
