Hi
If anyone owns, has built or has any knowledge of this model could they give me some links , advice, pictures etc.
The fuselage is fibreglass, quite light with a good amount of detailing, it is 1/6.5 scale, wingspan is 67.5", length 55"
Comes with alloy spinner, fixed legs but is also fitted up for retracts.
Apparently it is quite quick build so a lot of time can be spent detailing etc if your that way inclined.
I can get hold of one here in the UK on Friday from a new importer and it should suit my Laser 90 FS well.
Here is a link to the website if you need any more information.

Follow the Airplanes, Warbirds, ARC Airplanes then Spitfire link.

Lee take a look on ebay.co.uk item 1756390463
76" spitfire, looks like it has the retracts fitted, but no engine.
But best of all its from the Toy Museum, Stamford, Essex, so not a million miles from you. rather than make an ebay offer, try calling them via the phone, and see if they will take cash.

Hi Graham
I emailed you earlier on in reply to the other post.
Rang them but they wouldnt accept any offers, looks a bit old but I'll keep my eye on it. Worried about Balsa rot or more the glue giving up. Probably needs recovering really so you can give it a look over.!!! May be worth it depending on the price.
Cheers

Hi
Phoned them up and he answered at this time of night, he wont accept any offers on that one.
Its the 63" Spit form Mick, new price of the kit is £135 plus I'd use a 4 stroke in it. He wont split so I dont know, seems a bit pricey. Its the foam wing version, sheeted, no flaps.
What do your reckon.??

I guess it depends how much and how fast you want to start shooting the hun down?. If he wont take an offer, have you got anything you want to trade with him, I know he does take swaps, but his top price is minimal. I have purchased a few things of him in the past, his house is quite easy to get too.
Failing that your back to your original choices, or have you tried ringing as many model shops as possible?. East Anglia models (Gorlston, near Great Yarmouth) I think have a Hurricane hanging up.

hello lee......
I used to own one of these planes, before it got shot down 6 or so mnths ago......i found the kit easy to put together.....although the instructions were in russian...with a little bit of english as an after thought........i put an OS 120(3 blade graupner prop 16 x8 ) in mine with standard futaba 3001 servo's....which worked great.....I used most of the hardware they provided....only changing the snakes for sullivans on the rudder an elevator.......the wing comes in 3 seperate pieces an fixed U/C....if you want to put retracts in it then your gonna have to cut out the wells an holes for all the plumbing.....this will add quite a bit of weight to the model.....I was lazy an went with the fixed U/C....it was the first model i built(second one was the trainer i learnt to fly with....).....I just looked at the spit for one year until i was ready....lol.....
anyway.....i finished the model with FLAIR paint in the desert scheme....oh....i changed the engine mount as well to an ali one...
it needed quite a bit of lead on the nose to balance it....cant remember how mutch......but the cg is bang on in the instructions....110mm from LE......my spit flew great....i would recommend this spit to anyone who loves spits......since the demise of mine I went out an bought a 102 in WS fibreclassics spit
....that im in the proccess of building
good luck with yours

Hi
How was it without the flaps on landing.
How was the stability in flight etc.
Where are the aileron servos mounted, if on the wing are they tucked away insied and covered over or just surface mounted.
what was the detail on the epoxy fuse like.
Finally and sorry about all the questions, did the 120 tuck away under the cowl nicely and do you have any pics you could post or mail me.
Thanks
Lee
PS - Exactly how did you lose it ??????

hi again,
landing the spit was always an event for me.......not due to the plane......only with my inexperience......I never had flaps on this plane....i was in too much of a rush to finish it......50% of the time i could get 3 point landings......the other 50%....well.....!!!!
thinking about it reminds me of some of the worse landings i had...
loads of nose overs.......one wing too low a few times as well that sent the plane spinning......the most damage i ever did to it was a couple of wing bolts snapping.....!!
as for stability......rock solid....!!.....on rails....!!
the servo's are mounted in the wing(wells already cut for you an ducting holes for your extention leads as well)...you only have to glue in a couple of blocks for the servo screws.......
detail on the fuse was good with panel lines an screws all moulded in.......
the cylinder head was the only thing you could see......engine had
to be mounted upside down.......it all fitted in......bar the exhaust..
again in too much of a rush to pipe it.......
what are you waiting for .........go buy it.....you wont be dissapointed i promise........

Hi
Sounds good to me.
An easy first warbird kit (ish)
I know the wing is foam core but that should make it easy for me to install / build flaps etc, I can hide those servos in the radiator scoops.
The aileron servos I may re adjust and pop them on their sides just with the arm poking out.
Yep, I reckon I'm going to go for it.
The alloy spinner that comes with the kit, is that for a 2 or 3 blade prop. ?????
Finally
Is there enough room in the fuse to build a cockpit ??
Cheers

hello again.....
your right about the wing being foam core.......its also skinned in some kind of hardwood as well........really strong....and the quality is second to none....trust me....its really sharp.....you'll know what i mean if you get the kit........
you'll not hide the servo's in the radiator scoops though.....unless you cut some new wells of course.......!!
The spinner that comes with the kit .....you cut it yourself.....so it's up to you.......
and there is mammoth amounts of room for a cockpit if your gonna do it........
just keep everything as far forward as you possibly can....near the firewall..........
happy building.........!!!
there's another piccy of the spit in my gallery if you wanna take a look........
be lucky..!!
