I'm thrilled to see any picture from you Pete. It's been a while. That couple in the third picture is a nice looking couple.[sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif][sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Great to hear Pete.
Here is some modeling pictures. Of course the pictures are always for Bob T.
I just couldn't resist. I tried to start it up but no luck. I think the diaphragm in the carb dried out. I flipped about 60 times before I gave up. I'll borrow Eugene's Electric Starter tomorrow and see if that will help. I already know what I don't like about Warbirds. You can't get to anything without taking something apart first. I hope that it remains the only thing that I don't like.
The first picture is the plane Taking Charge! He He! Pun intended. The other is the mess that the Cowl is going to hide sooner or later.

I plugged in the retracts last night and they didn't work. I'll have to figure them out Before I can maiden it. I will, just haven't had a chance to cause the XFC is in town and that's a once a year event that I won't miss.
I got more excuses then John VH.

I found the binding problem with my retracts. It was in the mechanism for the gear door inners. I removed them for now And can get 7 full retracts from 100lb. of pressure. If the rains keep away the plan is for the maiden to be flown today. Let you know what happened when I get back home.

We got the maiden in. Only flew it once cause the engine got hot and a cowl mounting screw came loose and I forgot the wrench at home.
Bob did a great job flying it. I think he would have made a shorter landing into the wind. Didn't do bad down wind tho.
At this time I want to thank Pete for having this thread and everyone that helped and provided the encouragement for this rookie builder. I also want to thank you guys for the new friendships that have been formed because of this thread. You are all great people and I'm very grateful to all of you.
Here is the video of the maiden. This is just as much your victory as mine.

Here are some pictures for Bob T.
You can see by the residue in the last photos. That is the pattern for some weathering. Bob and I are standing with the plane. Bill Timberman took the photo of us and that is Bob's wife in the background of some of the picks.

Congrats on the maiden Tom, it’s nice to see it fly after all the hard work, time & effort you put into to it. I’ve been a long time lurker, watching what all you guys were/are doing with the big ones as I’ve got a Top Flight GE (63â€) to do as soon as I get some space in the shed. I’ve also picked the same colour scheme as you.
Good luck with her & keep her flying
Cheers buz2au

The plane flew very smooth from start to finish. I ended up only using the last half of our landing field and a slight tail wind. Wish I had cut the engine after landing. I am glad Tom let me do the honors of it`s maiden.

Congratulations with the maiden! From the looksof the take-off and theclimb-out, I'd say this plane was built really straight and true. Great building! Great flying! Looking forward to the pictures!

To all who have seen and commented on Tom Seres P-47.........The pictures do it little justice...I have seen and built a few planes, and this work is outstanding, the paint and detailing are as good as any I've seen and better than most......The fact it flew hands off the first time is testament to the quality of his work, although pilot Bob Parker can match the skill of anyone I've seen..............Eugene
