Eugene, you are to kind. It's not that good. It's great to have a friend like you and am glad you are feeling better.
I do agree with you about Bob being a pretty good pilot. But here again I'm prejudiced since he thought me to fly R/C.
Thanks Bob for doing such a great job flying.

Had the 2nd and 3rd flights on the Jug today. And yes I did fly it. I got to do the first rolls and loops with it. This plane flies straight with no bad tendencies. Bob had even made a great dead stick landing after we run it out of gas. It looks like we are only going to get 15 minutes out of a tank full while mostly flying wide open. From now on we are strictly flying for ten minutes then landing.
Sorry . No pictures today. It was a work day at the field setting up for Saturdays Fly In. However we did manage to mix in a little bit of fun.

You can call me Old Tom for as long as you want. I still think you look more like a Sailor then a Pilot.[sm=drowning.gif] Maybe thats why you built the Corsairs first.[sm=teeth_smile.gif]

I could have told you that 15mins was the max......I have my timer set for 10mins. That leaves a couple mins slosh for go arounds.

Old Tom
Not sailer, but I did own a sail boat when we lived in th L/A area any way there is a story why I built the Corsair first, but not for this theead.
MY G-62's burn right at 1 to 1.5 oz per minuteand do to the bad hands I set my timer at 6 and that might give one go around so I have to have a buddy that i can hand off to.
Glad to hear the 47 has some glide
Bob And eugne just keep tom in check

Looks like I'm moving this year as well so WOTR won't work for me either. But I may be moving closer to you (still a drive but not as far as WA). Not sure when/where I'm moving yet.

We had the Fly In today. Bob flew the Jug and I narated on the loud speaker at the noon time demos. It was a big hit. It's amazing how much the spectators like Warbirds. It was a big hit with the crowd. The only drawback was that I had to answer a bunch of questions afterwards.
Here is a pick of the Jug under the canopy.

We got the maiden in. Only flew it once cause the engine got hot and a cowl mounting screw came loose and I forgot the wrench at home.
Bob did a great job flying it. I think he would have made a shorter landing into the wind. Didn't do bad down wind tho.
At this time I want to thank Pete for having this thread and everyone that helped and provided the encouragement for this rookie builder. I also want to thank you guys for the new friendships that have been formed because of this thread. You are all great people and I'm very grateful to all of you.
Here is the video of the maiden. This is just as much your victory as mine.

It will be much quicker to finish your T/F one Pete, the more I do on my Robart P-47 the less impressed I am.
Cheers

well I'm impressed by the size, but if I do take it up I wont be doing overboard on scale., It will be a get it in the air ASAP project.
Anyway got lots of other stuff to sort before I take this one on and funds are extremely low so they is big deciding factor too
