the sequence is much better whith the wing right way up. The Ultra Precision valve will make it much smoother. What size air talk are you using? A leger tank will maintain a more even pressure for longer compared to smaller tanks that rapidly lose pressure due to smaller volume.

The tank size is 43 cubic inches or 704 cc .Not shure wich system you all use down under .I will get the up 1 valve had major leaking problems last night with the valve i have as i worked on the gear. for no apparent reason it would just start blowing out air for no reason cant afford that in the air

You can also use an air restrictor in the lines. I used an air restrictor on my Spitfire's up sequence, using the robart valve, and it seemed to be fine. The amount of adjustment to get a change in speed is minute.

Boy, all I can say is WOW!! What a wonderful wealth of info on the Corsair. I have the Gold kit that I have had for some time (3 yrs) and am planning a start on it soon. Have all of the parts etc. but am wondering where NCIS and others have purchased the tri-blade hub and blades.

Again, all I can say is THANKS to all of you in your efforts and input. And, some awful beautiful birds. I am just finishing up the TF Staggerwing.

Tall Texan,

The 3 blade hub (and a four blade as well) is available from Solo props as well as the blades. If you ask for them they are available in a Corsair Profile as well. They were a little bit expensive but worth it, I thought.

I'm not sure that they have been used yet. Most of us that bought them are still building their Corsairs. I know of one guy that is using one of their 4 bladed props and he loves it. So mush so that he convinced me to buy one for my Corsair.

O.K. Guys I took the Corsair out to pop it's cherry today, but it was too windy for me, about 10-15 MPH constant, so I put it all together and broke the engine in and taxied it around. I did a couple of high speed passes and it seems ready to go. I am less worried about it crashing right off the bat. Everyone one at the field liked it, said it looked really good. I told them there were many others out there that look wayyyy better than mine does. Anyhow I did not get to fly but I am still pretty excited about it just taxing around on the runway. Everything stayed together except the servos for the flaps broke, both of them, they were hitech digital servos so I will need to get into that and see what the problem is.

The servos seemed to have burned up. They were a little bit warm. I am using a 6 volt battery and maybe they were only supposed to be used with 4.8 volts. One of the guys at the field said he had some heavy duty servos that could only be used with 4.8. All of the other servos were Futaba and they are all fine. I am changing them out now we will see if it works

Nothing actually broke. The servos just stopped working. I have been trying to get the new servos in and I can not get everything to line up now, maybe I had a load on the servos and did not know it. They did not hummm or buzz so I thought it was all o.k.

use an mpi voltage regulator. servos can handle 6v! under a regulator maybe your y harness went bad. Well here is my update gear engine all servos except tailwheel and throttle installed. wing fold works great with two 300 oz sail winch servos! problem is I need two 6v packs to do this. weight is 26 lbs so i need to be very careful on finishing. rcwarbirds has these flying well over 30 lbs so with a g-62 im not worried. i dont think i can add 6 lbs of glass and paint if i tried. I really think i will leave the wings locked most flights and use the fold just to show off once in a while. robart air cylinders will lock each panel in two seperate places so the wings will be strong im still not gonna go crazy with aerobatics until im sure the outer panels wont rip off

O.K. guys I had a buddy come by and take a look at this with me. Pretty obvious once he pointed it out to me. The middle flap was binding, hinges seemed to have moved while glue was drying. It looks like I will have to tear it down completely and redo the hinges. He also told me that I could run a bead of clear silicone on the bottom side and atleast get them locked into a solid place so I can still fly. I never planned on using the flaps anyway but they look cool.

So You guys using hitec stuff are probably fine I burned mine up and it was completely MY FAULT.

I will let you all know how thw maiden goes when I get to squeeze it in.

Cliff,
when you say the middle flap was binding, exactly where was it binding?you also say the hinge must have moved while the glue was drying, moved ? in what respect at the trailing edge of the wing(moved out)? or at the flap itself (out)?
I'm just a little confused when I read the post.

Thanks,
George
