You will have to remove a small amount from the dummy engine if you're going to use it. I chose to leave mine off the model as I would have to cut too much away.
To upload pictures, when you reply to a message look at the bottom of the text window and you'll see "Click here to upload images and files!"
That will let you add images from your source.

I'm not sure I understand you engine alignment problem. Here is mine with the cowl in place and dummy radial. It is a Rossi 60 with a Pitts.

Ok i have just now reeforced the fuse from inside. I glued two half moons from 5mm wood after i have glued from out side of the fuse also with 5mm wood. Now i think this could take my .61 FX without brake!!

What kind of engine are you using? I placed my engine so that the prop shaft was in the center of the firewall. I know that the CMP instructions are rediculous, but I didn't have any problem with this portion of the assembly. I pretty much lined up the mount with the lines, and the center of the shaft was on center with the lines. Unless you use a small engine (and add a ton of weight) you will be butchering the cowl.

RE: New CMP 50-sized Corsair
i have the OS 61 FX engine and my problem is the two set of lines so i dont know with what lines i should aligne the engine mount. Because one of the set is right centered with the fuse and the other set is abault 5mm to the left in the vertical and 5mm above the center line in horizontal. check in your fuse inside the cowl if you dont have this two set os lines. Tanks

Erec,
I am nt sure what to tell you on the center lines. I positioned the the engine in place before drilling to ensure the center. I did not have the wooden mount between the engine mount and the firewall. Also, the downthrust is built into the firewall. You should not need to alter this. I added a little wood for re-enforcement behind the firewall, but not in front.

It dosen´t have the down thrust! Only the right thrust! I have put 2mm of washers on the engine mount that should do just fine.

RE: New CMP 50-sized Corsair
If I remember correctly it was already done on my model.
Poke around and see if you can find pre-drilled holes

eric , whose retracts are they , they look good , what brand and are they avaible in the states .
Also if you are trying to drill the wing mounting nubs my suggestion is as follows, set your wing in the plane with tape , measure and make sure your angles are correct and incidence .
Purchase a 12" or 15: drill bit and go in from the front bulk head if you have access . Becareful to measure everything before you drill , this works perfactly everytime

Thanks Eric , the gear looks good I only use sierra and CJ rotating gear but sierra is expensive !!!
Give the wing drilling idea a shot , test your skills on wood and get use to the long drill bit , when you go thru the first bulkhead , stop , look and see if you look like you dead center before you proceed to the second and into the leading edge .
I have use this method on so many ARfs , its 100% accurate if you take your time

Hello can i see some pictures of yours retract servo on the wing please? Tanks
So this model has a problem with the heat, it dosent let the air to flow inside to out side of the cowl so i have this idea: remove two pieces from the cowl and put some net on it. Something like this:

My English its not that good! I haven´t fly with him because at the same time i was finishing my Mustang P-51, maybe in the next month. Thats a great engine, i go for the OS 61 because a 70 four-strok is very expensive!!

RE: New CMP 50-sized Corsair
Glad to see this forum still going. It's been a while since I logged on to it and when I did today and read the post I had put in, I got a chuckle on all the problems I had with this plane. Well, I still have my second CMP 50 Corsair and it flies great. I remember going to the flying field with this plane and not being sure if I will return with it. Now all has changed, when I look at my warbirds and I want a plane that is easy to fly for the day, I grab my Corsair. At first I was scared to land this bird, now I go inverted ten feet off the runway. No trick to flying this plane, get airspeed up before taking off and then climb out as level as you can, that both adds air speed and looks cool. IF it's balanced correctly, it will land as easy as a trainer. Experience and time is all it takes to get comfortable with this plane.
