Default Hitec HS-75BB low profile retract servo for retracts

Has anyone ever used the Hitec HS-75BB retract low profile servo in the retracts? The mounting dimensions are almost the same as the JR dimensions.

Compare the amount of torque between the two and if they are similar, go for it!

As I recall, the mounting screwholes are specific to the JR servos but if the Hitec will fit then give it a try.

I had this plane and remember trying a retract servo I had on hand and it didnt work out. It struggled operating them. I do know it wasn't a Hitec 75. Cant remember brand, its been around 7-8 yrs ago. I ended up getting the JR's which were great, but pricey. I think you're gonna find the Hitec wont work good since their only around a 100oz and the JR's are 260oz and they used every ounce working the retracts. I do remember that. And the JR's are Metal gears and the 75's are not.

AND don't forget those servos didn't like 6.0 volts!

Default Spektrum a7040 he retract servoThe

The spektrum a7040 hv retract servo has a high torque rating. Has anyone used this servo for the retracts?

I have six A7040s in retract service in five planes. One each in .60 size planes, two servos in a .90 - 1.20 Seagull Zero. Using LiFe RX batteries in all the planes. I power the retract servo off the same battery I use for the RX. Working well for me.

Default P51 150

Rear exhaust to be added soon!

Tru-Turn spinner is very nice but doesn’t come cheep!
I know this is an old thread but I’m just pulling mine out the box to build it! She is getting a DLE 35 and will start out with a 19/8 prop. This should be a fun warbird. I flew my TP p-47 with the Saito FG-60 radial today and man was that a blast! Hope this one comes out nice as well! Here is a pic of the DLE 35 mounted. There is some craftsmanship that has to be done to get it mounted but came out perfect!

Default Version 2 with Robart Electric retracts

Just now building my p51 and the robart gear I ordered for this model are too long! Long by about 1/4inch. Did anyone else have this issue or did they work fine for you?

Anybody have any measurements they can share? Robart is telling me they are right but it clearly is almost 1/4 to long and not on center. They were trying to rush me off the phone too! Somethings up. I clearly know I have version 2. If you go on their website you will see their measurements are not correct for this plane.

Here are the drawings that Robart say fit this version 2 p51 150. I don’t think it’s correct! Can someone verify that has the robart gear?

Thank you, really would like to use the Robarts but just not fitting very well. Even the bolt holes don’t line up.
