RE: KMP / YT FW-190 Build Thread
We got a bit of a hiccup. One motor isn't working. One unit works like it should (slick and really scale timing wise), the other not so much, lol. Tried to eliminate all possibilities by directly connecting it to the rx, even cut off and re did the JR connector thinking it might be bad. Cut connector and all, WSR is sending another one before they get the dud. Now that is good customer service!
The only other short coming about installing these units so far is the pig tail could be longer. Another 3-4" and you could actually eliminate any extensions and go with just an MPI Y harness. Connections are always the weakest link in any set-up.
In the meantime, I'm off to mow the field and get some stick time in. Weather is actually nice for a change. Summer has finally arrived by the looks of today!

Sky looks a strangle colour in the second picture. Don't recall seeing it like that when I lived in the UK

Got it today from a very nice Fed Ex rep!
Have my S'bach on the build table getting it's engine back put in place (DLE 55 had some warranty work done). I will get the new working retract installed tomorrow with some video to give you a better idea on how these work.

Well, I have bad news...the new retract stripped its gear w/o even the leg and wheel on. I have had it with these. All are going back to WSR. Hopefully I can get my money back for them.
As for this airframe, I'm done sinking money into it...it's getting put in the rafters next to the Cap it was to replace. I've got another airframe that could use this electric set-up.
Later gents, it's been a slice!

Well, I must say I have gotten quite the surprise today. I had received an e-mail from Wingspan and they apologized profusely. They want to check out my set for QC issues they may be having. Now I'm not saying they are, he said just that the probability of one customer getting that many defective units is troubling to them. They have stated they will not only fully refund me including postage, but will send a set free of charge in lieu of helping with the QC issue. I guess that since these are a new product that I'm the beta tester! We'll see and of course I'll keep ya informed.
I just got a breath of life back in this plane!

So, are you an early tester for them or are the retracts on sale right now? I keep visiting their website hoping to find and on-sale date and was told they would be available early August, but I'm unable to add a set to my cart and order them. Based on your problems, that may be a good thing.

Gentlemen, I haven't posted in a long while but have still been watching your progress. I wanted to inform anyone interested of a engine I just posted on RCU. I am selling a New in Box RotoMotor 35vi with warranty and engine mounts that I paid extra for. I am asking $380 shipped for free to the lower 48 states. It would be great for the 190 as it is heavier than the DLE 30 that I currently have in my 190 with a chunk of led sitting on top.
As for my 190, Still flying great and I have been dropping bombs all over the field! I love it! I have been putting baby powder inside the bombs so when they impact it gives a nice effect. It also makes the field smell good after my pucker factor! I bought a 1/5 scale bomb from Ziroli, which was way to big and expensive, but it cracked after every drop. So I saw on hobbyking a 1/6 scale bomb for $5 and said what the heck. It works better, less drag and greart affects. I included a link to YouTube so you can check it out.

Don't forget about the RotoMotor!

Beauty bomb drop!
irocbsa, I am just a guy searching for a solution for my plane. I knew these were fresh off the drawing board, but didn't expect this scenario.
I am also going to gas with this as well. The mount was design not to interfere with a later conversion, such as what is going to take place. I am ditching the e-gear for the quicker turn around times that a gasser can provide. That and I love the sound that is missing!!! Those videos made me jealous, lol. Also, 10S packs are expensive and need over an hour to charge both 5S packs.

RE: KMP / YT FW-190 Build Thread
Guys, Thanks for all the comments. I have really been enjoying my plane as it added a new level of excitment of flying it. It really wows the crowd at the field and keeps those big 3D planes away from me. I have not been able to witness the drops myself other than on video! That is why I started recording them. I got tired of hearing how cool it looked and not seeing it. I read an article from I think it was Nick Ziroli on how he watched his bomb drop to the ground and then looked up to see his plane follow it into the ground! OUCH!
Now, how to figure out a setup to shoot BB's! LOL
Have fun flying and I look forward to keep reading your threads.

There's a corsair over in germany that has a auto pellet gun mounted in the wing. Not legal here in the US, but prtty darn cool. I also have the hobbyking bomb drop setups on a couple of my planes.

I dont recall. I think it was air powered, but the gun fired a lot faster then any normal airsoft gun you can find in r/c tanks. It had a 100 pellet chamber and could fire all of them in under 10 secs if i remember right.
