JL, which retracts did you end up ordering? Your plane looks great. What cloth did you use to cover? Great work on the canopy! If you keep this up, I will end up sending you my 190 to have you build it....

Have a good day

Jl, thanks for the info. Do the retracts fit without modifying the wing, or do you have to make them fit first? Who sells the supercoat cloth? Is it one of the ones that towerhobbies has?
Like I said before, I am a novice and I am building this for my son to fly. Right now I am finding out how to install the flap servo. Have you put that in yet? If so, how did you install the piece od ply that is supposed to go in there? Do you think it would be possible to put mechanical retracts into this plane. Which one would you recommend? I am still not sure I can spend the 250 for it. I am planning on putting an OS 90 into this with a 3 balde prop... Thanks guys

tdifan, My re-tracks should fit with out mods. The flap servo goes into the tray inside the fuse right behind the firewall there should be 4 openings one for each servo.I dont know anything about any plywood sorry man.If the plane is set up for re-tracks then mechanical or nuematic should work, not saying you might have to do mods. The supercoat fabrick was in this old timers shop.I dont know if it is carried by the big chains???Tdifan, I too am a novice at flying but am intermediate on building kits but when it comes to retracts or weight distribution i am novice. The price of the re-tracks is 214.99 LXA795.There are a lot cheeper ones out there.Your 90 should do fine and maybe take up some of the weight since our plane is nose light when it comes to CG.

Jl , been running so I did not start the kit yet , plan on posting pics , you will see its looks like a CMP /Flymodels with the exception of the split flaps .
I plan on buying an interior kit from IMP in Florida , retracts will either be
Lenny from Shindig , CJ , or Sierra makes them for the new Kondor model Fw190 so they should fit .
My process for all retracts is the same , glass the area for a foundation , add more hard wood rails from base of wing to base of original rails , dremil out to fit perfactly , make sure your forward angles are correct and make sure the retract in a smooth manner before you put all 4 wood screws in place

John L, I believe you have to mount the flap servo into the wing. There is a cutout towards the trailing edge where the servo is supposed to be embedded. If you mount it where you suggested behind the fire wall, then you cannot take the wing off easily for transport. It has to be cementeed into the wing in the rear position. Can you check and advise how you would fit it into there? You are supposed, according to the plans to cut out 10 mm on each side to make it fit.

Dude, I am so sorry I wasnt even thinking right.I have been studying the next things I have to tackle.I stoped thinking of the wings when I completed the flaps.Yes you have to cut 10mm on both sides of the wings.I did on mine and the jr servos I am using fit perfactly. Hope that helps John L

Into whhat did you skrew the servo into? There is only balsa everywhere? Did you have to fabricate some ply and epoxy it somewhere somehow?

TDIFAN,If you look at the instructions there are two blocks wich get epoxyd in wich you screw the servo to.They were in the bag with the square box made of balsa and ply that also goes into the wing, that is the whole that you cut 28mm on each side but with the box was the blocks in wich you want to use.One is a square u shape the other is a rectangle block. It is illustrated in step 11 of the instructions. The block wich has the cutout for the servo wire is 19 mm from side to side and 25mm high,8mm wide. The straight block is 25mm high,20mm side to side and is also 8mm wide.I posted the illustration from the intructions just in case you dont have and pics of the blocks themselves.

Gret John, that makes sense. I will go ahead and have this finished hopefully either today or tomorrow. Thanks for the pics. that makes it way easier. A little advice for the pics, If you switch the camera onto the little tulip symbol, then the close ups will be way easier to take and show nice as well. The symbol looks like a little flower.

LDM, what happened to you and your new kit, we have been awaiting some pics and news with great anticipation. Do not make us wait too long......

Wow, then this is great, cannot beat 20$ for a camera. The results are great for that price. I found this covering LXB185 on towerhobiies. Is this similar to what you use? It is iron on as well. Looks similar to what you have. What are you going to paint it with, meaning which paint brand do you use? do you airbrush it on? Thanks for all your help. I cannot wait to hear the first flight reports....... Andreas
