Default RCSCALEBUILDER down the tubes?

Got a mysterious message from friend two days ago. Says that RCSCALEBUILDER will be no more soon. Lack of visitors and lack of funding were mentioned.

I have not been able to tune in there in more than one year, but anyone else know of what is going on?

I was there a few days ago reading a forum and remember seeing something to the effect that they were going strong as ever, and a huge amount of money had been raised. I certaainly hope it does not go away, it is a great resource for scale builders.

Yeah they made their 2008 funding targets just after christmas so they should be cashed up for the year. in fact, they are about to release a new look website!

Think the email might have been a bum steer.

Thanks

I visit there daily and haven't noticed any signs of closing down. I hope they never do, it would be a great loss to the scale community.

Totally and utterly wrong. They are well funded already for 2008, in fact they had the money they needed for 2008 before December.

I don't visit there as much as I should but its such a great resourse for building, I was sure to make a donation and get a build CD,for the scale builder there's just so much reference material,I will keep my support coming in the future.

William,

Don't know where you friend got their information but it's not even close to being true. I have no idea how someone could come to this conclusion. RCSB is stronger than ever. We have over 6000 ACTIVE members (we have a algorithm that purges inactive members based on time and/or number of posts), financially stable, and are actually making plans to grow.

I looked up your profile and notice you have not visited the site since Sunday, May 06, 2007. If you were having problems all you have to do is contact one of the administrators or use the “Contact Us†page to get some help. From experience I can tell you 99% of the time it's a browser configuration problem, corrupt cookie or a firewall blocking the cookie.

Anyway, all is well at RCSB. Look for bigger and better things in the near future!

Amen to that Evan. People there still want to build and don't settle with ARF's that only superfically resemble a wardbird!

It would be nice if you didn't have to register to view there...

Don't see much point in registering 'till I'm ready to post something, and I'm already on more forums than I can keep track of (3 car, 2 truck, 7 motorcycle and 6 RC forums)

I'd rather it stays that way, it very much reduces the signal to noise ratio. Besides there is no other place on the wibbly Web you can get the information that RC Scale Builder has. Its full of the best scale builders, (as in Master's champtions, Top Gun champions etc) that share their abilities, skills, secrets and whatnot, all for your reading pleasure.

Most of the FBI guys I've met couldn't find their hindquarters with both hands and a roadmap...

Yes, I did register here, but I have had things to post. Honestly, I do way more reading than I do posting. On one particular heli forum, I read there for about a year before joining, and I joined mostly to be able to search. My main interest is scale helis, but I do have a couple of warbird projects in mind. When I get around to starting them, I'll sign up over there. It would just be nice to be able to read some of the threads without having to register on a forum that you'll rarely, if ever, post on. How annoying is it when someone posts a link to something that you want to look at once, but you have to register to do so?

You're right, it's not a big deal, it's just one more forum to add to the list...and I'll get around to it at some point...

RodanAZ-If your into scale helis we would love to have you on our site. We promote scale RC building-no matter what the venue. It would be nice to have a few scale helis going together there.

It actually only does take a couple minutes to register so you can view the posts. When you stop and think of it, registering is really not to much to ask. I'll bet you would like people to identify themself to you before you let them into your house.

One other little statistic about RCSCALEBUILDER. We have 1.2 to 1.8 million hits a month on the site. Pretty busy place. If you are inetrested in building scale R/C models-pure and simple-RCSCALEBUILDER is the place to be.
