Stuka in the Bones
hisham,
It looks great! How long did it take to get to this point? I've heard that Ziroli Stukas are great flyers. Check out pahtreek's gallery. His Stuka looks absolutely real, and also, rcwarbirds.com has some nice pictures of others.
I'm working on Ziroli's Dauntless right now. Lot's of parts but they fit together well.

Curious on a ziroli build, all the kits I have built so far have flat bottom ribs or jig tabs on them, how do you build them and keep the correct position?
Just curious if you need some custom wing jig tool or not.
Looks nice,
Mill

The wing plans of my Stuka has a false line
on which you pin a 1/4" sq. strip under the ribs
in order that you get the right washout at the tip!

The Ziroli planes I've built use long strips of wood under the TEs of the wing when building. There are specific positions on the plan where the strips go to insure correct washout.

Z Wings
Mill Check out this link http://home.mchsi.com/~jahuntley/hurricane/hur6.html it is the wing for my Hurricane. It is a Vailley but built the same way as the Ziroli. You Will notice the trailing edge jig and and down the page there is a closeup where you can see I use 1/4 square or 3/8 square sticks to sandwhich the rib snugly which keeps the ribs verticle and also helps keep the TE in place. I do this for every plane I build whether it has tabs on the ribs or not. it always makes a nice wing panel.

Proflooney and others,
thanks guys, was wondering about that, I checked out the hurricane pics before, I thought, in my ignorance, that the rear pieces of wood were rear spars. That issue has been bugging me as to how you get the correct positioning.
I am building me a ziroli someday, really.
Get that Hurricane finished!!! looks gorgeous.
Thanks again,
Mill

Hurri
Mill I am waiting on Darrell to finish my retracts. Because they will be scale retracts and because of the size of the plane which affects the angle of the dangle and the rotation stuff I will have to customize my wing heavily thus I can do any sheeting to it and cant do the fuse until I get the tailwheel and get it installed. I also dont like to sheet until I am all done inside and ready to glass it cause I hate filling dings in the balsa.
As for lining the jig up in the rear most plans say where the washout jig goes. 95% of the time it goes under the rear spar but on this one I had to make my own jig and I made it just in front of the rear spar due to some ribs being shorter than the other ribs and wanted to make sure they lined up with the rest.

Looks like you are doing a great job on the stuka.I used a flashlight assembly on mine. You need to fit the light in between
the leading edge of the ribs.then make the lens from clear thin plastic. If you attach a micro switch to the flap servo it will turn on when you land. GOOD LUCK -SNAKE STUKA

NICE JOB ON THOSE GEAR. ITS THE SPATZ THAT KILL ME. I'M GOING ON MY THIRD SET NOW. AT LEAST NICK IS MAKING THEM OUT OF ONE PIECE FIBERGLASS NOW. THOSE TWO HALF ABS SPATZ WERE A REAL NIGHMARE. A BMW STATION WAGON OUGHT TO FIT THE STUKA WING NO PROBLEM. DOES THE FRONT PASSANGER SEAT FOLD DOWN?
