HI threre! Test flight will sometime in the next week! (Waiting for the field to dry out__ had a lot of rain). At the same time I need to have the aircraft certified by (MAAA_ the Model Aircraft association of Australia) this is due to the weight. If over 7 Kg you need to do this in Australia.
The field I am flying of is not very good. Has "Cracks, Holes and some turf that we call GRASS!
So No I will not put Gear doors on the YAK3 ......... at leaset not when I fly it. Perhaps only for static display.
I use a 2 blade for the test flights. It is a Master Airscrew 15 x 8 and spins at 8500 SAITO 120 (New Engine),
Erick!

Well after a long Month finally we got some good weather!
Out I went and got the Heavy Aircraft inspector to check out the YAK3.........
Wel all checked out OK ............. exept ........ the CG!!
No I did not do the calculations wrong ,,,,,,,,,,, just measured at the wrong place!
So I ended up doing some fast TAXI's to the point were the wing would start lifting and then chop the throtle off.
Changed the prop to a 14x6 for the SAITO 120
got a digi shot of the YAK3 passing infront.
Next week looks like it will be the test flight! (Weather permiting).
Will post pics!
Regards
Erick
