Eric - I myself, can't believe I have been working on this build this long. You took me back in memory to review where the time went and I began looking back from the very beginning of this build. Man O Man, the trail of tears begins with my Father's death, me hospitalized several times, several surgeries, hand severely injured by a 120cc IMAC airframe, wife w/cancer, and on and on. WOW - I am afraid to look back any further. Time to look forward and not backward any longer. Glad you woke me up. But I believe now that I am in the homestretch and will make it to the end. Target is the 2018 AMA Nats.
Eric thanks for your help on the next build. Chic

Started working on the cockpit area myself. Can spray the cockpit and turret areas with Bronze Green (Both Cockpits) and Interior Green (Turret/Crew Quarters) paint within the shop vs. painting the exterior colors outside in 35 deg temps. Ha, Ha. At least that is one more item to cross off the item list (cockpits and turret). Chic

You are my "HERO" Bob. Thank you. Didn't know the KlassKote primer laid down such a good layer of primer. Came in from the shop tonight with all that primer dust on me. My wife chased me back out of the house. I told her the fuse is done and I have 3 sides of the wings to finish. She told me to take my shop clothing off outside on the back porch. I told her its cold out here. She said, "Well I guess you have a choice to make". I told her to be careful, Xmas is coming and I have all the receipts prepared to return all purchased items. I said, "What choice do you want me to make?" Ha, Ha, Ha. I win. Chic

Brother,
Be careful and hide a key in the shop as she now knows she may lock the door until you get semi naked. On the other hand you could just reply I'll show you mine if YOU show me yours though as Bob says SHRINKAGE could become a factor LOL
Will start sanding the Trojan fuse today and picking up a couple of cans of primer

I broke out some balsa and styrene to start working on my cockpit. Im starting with the center section first because i plan to have my reciever and gyro mounted there and everything needs to be removable. Im not trying for exact scale since the only good photos i could find of this area were from plastic models. But want it to look somewhat right.

Yes there is a platform below the radio compartment im building. The receivers and gyro will be mounted to it with the gyro forward just after of the pilot seat. It is supposed to be mounted as close to the c/g as postible (which i need to find out where it is because i dont have any plans). I will post more puctureas things progress.

Carl,
Thanks for the info.
This is what I got from Danny at Aeropanda.comHi Larry,You can locate the Cortex anywhere in the airplane. It does not need to be on or near the CG. It does need to be aligned with the flight axis of the airplane. Danny

I second Chic's thoughts, and hopefully Santa leaves great RC presents under your trees.... Chic, just make sure there is not a Nordstrom label on anything with your name on it...

Larry, it is too late. I gave her and the daughter their Xmas presents early. I gave them tickets to the singer Bruno Mars concert. $350 each. Now I am truly "BROKE". I mean "BROKE". Can't complain - Shirley has been good to me - with her spending on my hobby. But d@#%. They seriously enjoyed it, however, I would of been much more happy to see several Nordstrom tags. Ha, Ha. Understand Peter, I have a couple of jets myself. Got an exciting project lined up "AFTER" the Avenger is finished. I want to build Kerry Sterner's "Sea Vixen" Jet. Google or YouTube it (RAF Sea Vixen), it is such an unusual but pretty airframe. Looking for a heated facility "NOW" to begin applying paint to the Avenger, meanwhile, I am looking over the plans for the Sea Vixen. Going to be a lot of work for sure. Got to get to Muncie with the Avenger this summer. Great hearing from you Peter, Noah, and Larry. You guys are great companions. Happy Holidays. Chic

As an aside....are the main gears available for the Sterner Sea Vixen? I have (most probably) one of the first nose leg made of that plane besides the canopy. Then, the mains were not yet available.
