Looking great!
We used Tamiya model Paint. From the AS and TS line of spray cans.
Its expensive however it coats well, sprays nice and damage or dings can easily be fixed. Paul and Doug do not like the smell of the Acrylic Enamel paint...lol I painted my Skyraider using the same paints. I loved it.

RE: Meister 1/5 scale P-47
Hi guys Paul back again with updates from Meister land.
I just finished Chrises 47 today and delivered it to him it took me 14 days around 8 hrs a day to bring this bird from glassed to plumed and painted, she came out relay good panel lined and riveted, Dean did the weathering to help me out ,thanks bud.
well today in my insane building mode i started Deans dads P47 this was a top gun winner back in 1995 this plane has sat for some years waiting for some TLC.i was onerd when dean asked me to re do this plane back to its original condition and ready to fly for several more years.the plane was covers with seconite covering and over the years had lost it ability to hold to the wood so i have stripped it all off to the bare bones see attached picture what a job.i have re glassed the fuse and am now getting it ready for primer.the wings are stripped and ready for glass tomorrow followed by primer, then the fun begins panel lines and my favorite millions of rivets as i step into the rubber room.[:@]
news flash deans bringing another un finished 47 to be done also tomorrow.
later Paul.

Hey guys,
Yep Chris's jug is done. Some minor work left on his part and he's ready to go. When Limey (Paul) sets his mind on something he goes full speed ahead!
While Limey is working on my old 1995 Top Gun entry I am bringing one more P-47 down to the shop to finish. So two more to go. One is my practice plane for Top Gun.
I would really like to take a moment to thank a very special guy in this mix... Doug Smith, the owner of Dentman Auto body located in Margate, FL. Without Doug's hospitality we would not be able to have the "Meister Land" home shop to work in. Doug's generosity goes above and beyond the norm. I am trying to trade in some ZAP glues for his bondo and sanders! Thanks again Doug!
Here is a shot of the old 1995 Meister P-47. It was the second P-47 ever built from Jim's plans. Started in 1994.
With Limeys help it will be looking better than the original. This was the last model that my father and I built together.

Dino, I got the box you sent and thanks for all the extra info. The samples look like nice material. I will use it somewhere and give you some feedback on it vs. FlightMetal. I have a Pica Spitfire in restoration and perhaps I can use some of your material on that as well.
The nomenclature sheet is awesome. This is defiantly the way to go guys. We will have some more pictures soon. BTW, do most of you guys opt for a one piece wing? It looks like it in the pictures.

Thanks for the comments Gary.
I will have the paint masks for you shortly.
As far as the wing goes, The design has been around since 1994. Only one issue that came up recently on a 10 year old model that had a problem but that had nothing to do with it being 2 piece. I guess if you have the room to load a surfboard then make it a one piece. Personally I see no reason for it. The guys at the shop like a one piece. Its a matter of preference. A one piece wing is always stronger in the long run.
