Dean,
Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your wife, can't even imagine what you're going through.
Must be ESP that you posted as I was getting ready to post that I have the leading edge affixed and sanded so I partially sheet the first wing half. Grandkids coming tuesday for 10 days sure that will cut into my build time.
Finally have the avenger 95% painted and started working on the servo setups.
You are in my prayers
Larry

It's about 120 miles Larry. Green Valley is a retirement community about 18 miles south of Tucson on RT. 19. I have been through Gilbert a half dozen times on my way to Apache Junction to compete in the scalemasters trials.

Larry I've been through the museum and bone yard a dozen times with a neighbor who is a docent there and former F-104 pilot and always look forward to doing it again. I came out to Arizona towing a 25 foot RV after visiting here on vacation 6 times. I hauled 2 models in the RV and 6 months later drove back to Syracuse NY picked up my model trailer and hauled 6 more models across the country. Seeing my grandchildren again was the only positive thing that happened this past week.

Dean,
I thought I was pretty good with words. Had to look up docent. ''Teacher'', ''Lecturer''
Boyd.

I had to look it up too when I first heard it. My neighbor Bud is a voluntary worker who acts as a guide at the Pima museum which is a discription of the word docent. I Hope to have images of the landing lights installed tomarrow.

I have the landing lights installed and tested. I had to modify the prototype to clear the leading edge and the top sheeting. I shortened the arm and lowered the point where the ball length is attached. The front end of rib 13 was cut off and moved to the inside to make space for the light.

Thanks for sharing your landing light details. I have been following the T-28 thread for some time. I am building a Z D-18 and had made up a similar landing light. When I saw your photos I decided to rip mine out and build yours in. I have one side almost complete and am started on the other side. My light is actuated by the flap deployment. I will post a couple of photos here when I get them finished.
Boyd, I have been posting in the "Scratch Building" forum with a guy about the Tracker. You should join in.

Charlie,
I agree with you about deans landing light, awesome design. Can you post the link for the scratch building forum would love to follow along.
Hoping to have the wing on the Trojan totally laid up by the weekend, 1 side complete 2nd side 75% done, have to attach leading and trailing edge and set the washout, then I can start on the landing light.
Looks like we will have avenger start July 14th, I posted to the avenger site last night, we are getting really close.

Guys,
Wing now laid up and washout taken care of, partially sheeted top side of wing. Will start on landing light tomorrow nite, can't wait to see how many times it takes me to get it right.winds blousing 18 - 20 at the field today got 3 flights in with my falcon, I wuss out taking anything decent if the wind is over 15 mph, just call me chicken.
Hopefully will post some pix this week, hope you guys are getting in some good stick time.

RE: T-28 Dave Platt
Charlie,
Thanks for the link, some great info.
Okay guys having a slight problem here. The hardwood blocks for the wing bolts are only 7/16" thick and the plans show them as 5/8", did you guys have the same problem and if so how did you solve it. Also the plans call for 2 full depth blocks behind the gear rails but I couldn't find them in the kit...
But as promised here are the pix of the build in it's current state

RE: T-28 Dave Platt
First Charlie I am glad I could be of some help with the landing lights.
Larry, I cut my own parts and what I did for the wing holdown blocks is to cut out the top view of the block on the plan glue it to a piece of hardwood the proper depth and cut it out.
