DB,
You have a servo raising and lowering the tail wheel - correct? Haven't gotten that far on mine; haven't gotten anywhere on mine except gluing the ailerons

I'm just now seeing this.
So your tail wheel is phnematic; I have the same as you but mine looks like it should be servo driven - I'll look again. And thank you for the assist. This bird is a straight forward build, shouldn't be hard for anyone, but one can always use assistance.
Here's some Christmas entertainment: Me with a Dead Stick takeoff of new PT Stearman http://vimeo.com/17494940

I would really consider going to a solid rod for the elevator. Or change out the cable setup that came with the kit. The crimps are weak and will come loose. They are OK on the rudder but will fail over time on the elevator....

Why would they cables fail on the elevators and not the larger rudder? I am using cables for both on my 126.8" Corsair. The rudder is a larger surface and has more force against it. All you need to know is how to properly crimp the cables.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
I'm with Ty and Crashproof. I would not use cables on an elevator. In the 30 odd years I have been modeling I have probably seen about a half a dozen cables snap or otherwise come undone on rudder setups. I have never once seen a hard pushrod setup snap...which of course doesn't mean it can't happen. But, using pull/pull on an elevator would be a big red flag for me. Just my 2 cents.

Hi gents,
Merry Xmas to all.
DB
I think that whatever is your preferred set up we have to respect.
If in some 30 years plus you have only seen a few fail I would say that that is a good %. I my self have seen push rods fail, nothing is 100% Fail proof as we cannot guaranty any part from the Servos to the control surface
Merry Xmas to all.

Kool Beans...
I don't care for cable but I have it on three of my birds: 101" Robin 400 w/DLE 111; 98" Gee Bee Y w/DA 85; and small glow pattern plane. I will use it on this EMS Corsair as well.
Christmas Maiden of my Do-335 Junior; EMS Do-335 Senior arrives Tuesday - look for thread in Twin Engine Planes: http://vimeo.com/18172152

DB, thank you, Sir...
Yeah man, we have a ball at my field and I do make some crazy funny videos - at least that's what "they" tell me. I've made a lot of flyin' buddies just by my videos; and if/when I see them in person, it's pretty kool - mostly turbine folks. I'll be makin' a new vid as soon as Santa get's back on track. You see, he's lookin' for me at my old address; I suspect it will be mid to late Jan 2011 before he finds me. At that time, I'll make a vid of the few goodies he's bringing.
All The Best to you as well...

DB, my Man...
No big deal, but I bet you drink a lot
I'm in the DC area as it connects to Maryland - a crowded place - I miss overseas: Japan, Germany, Russia, Others.
We have about 1" of snow on the grasses, streets are clear, heading to the field at 15 degrees via wind chill.
You should be finished with your Corsair by now - correct? Everyone is waitin' to see her fly; bet she'll fly just like any other. I may put mine on hold come Tuesday when my Do-335 Senior arrives

Not anymore, did all that when I was in the Military.

We got lots of snow and was -4.5 during today.
Not quite finished installed the HT leads and Ignition will be doing some more work tomorrow so will post some more pics, have you checked out the build thread I am doing at the YT web site?

nice job........she looks ready for her first sortie..............interesting however you used a twin[X(] Which engnie is it, if I may ask?
I just receive mine from ARF PROS today......It looks great and I'm excited to get started. Going with a 4.2 Brison for the serious business up front.
Also, did you use the stock engine mount? I see where some of the guys on this forum are going in a differant direction with their own plywood setup. If ya don't mind, mention a few of the areas where you ran into some problems. I'll also go back and read the whole thread to get up to speed as to where everyone's at.

NEVER MIND DB, I found you on the YT forum and you had already answered my questions..............good job on the doc of the build....
