I ordered JR791 too; work fine.

The wheels that came with the Hanger 9 P-47 landing gear are larger than the stock wheels from CMP, but I think they are a little small. I fly off of a grass field so I am thinking about using 4" wheels. I think they'll be closer to scale in size and I know they will work better on grass. I will have to enlarger the wheel wells to take the larger wheels.;)

You are right, 4'' is the good size, That's what I plan to use.
The problem will be to fit the retract...

I got my JR 88 retracts working. I found out they will not extending the retracts when inverted, but when in the upright position they work fine at 6v. I have tested they over and over last night and I am pleased to say as long as I lower the retracts in the noraml way they work fine.;) That will save me $120.00:D Iwill install the 4" wheels this week and enlarge the wheel wells[X(]

I have got two SpringAir 404 for the main and plan to use a "front" 600 for the tail, probably with a dedicated servo.
The link they have build between the rudder and the tail wheel is too ??? I don't find the appropriate word ;-)
To solve the need for all those servo reverser, I have got a "Emcotec DPSI RV Mini5 magic": dual a123 RX packs and 3 reversers included: flaps, elevator and rudder/tail wheel.

I think your setup sounds solid. You are tight about the tail wheel and rudder setup. I used 4-40 wires on ine becasue I thought the supplied rods were to small. [:'(] Thge setup does work enough though it is a little wired[X(] I hope to get buy Home depot today and see if they my have some lead weights taht my work when I go to balcane my Zero;)

Well I found 1lb lead weights at Bass Pro and I will use them to balance this plane. I will build a weight box on the bottom of the motor mount firewall to hold the weights. ;)

I also have decided to go another route on the retracts. I have heard the Hanger 9 150 P-47 retracts just don't hold up in the long run. I have forund a nice retract set for a Russian LA-7 at Troy Built that will do the job and they come with wheels. The set is complete and they cost only $140.00. Here are a few pics of how I mount my Brillelli 46GT and batteries. You will see I mounted the 1lb fishing weight to a 3/8" piece of plywood and extended it as farword as I could. I also have a couple of pics that show I mounted the elevator servo's in the fuselage;)

J one simple suggestion that I did on my CMP Fw190 bash , very easy to do at this point in your build .
1)go to the hobby shop , buy some white plastic tubes slightly bigger then your wooden rods .
2)cut some 2" and even 4" lenghth
3)slide them over your wooden dowl pushrod and support the plastic tube by glueing wood braces to them and the inside if the fuse .This will serve the following purposes , it will prevent any chance of flexing , it will keep the rods 100% straight under servo load and air pressure load on the flying surfaces .
I did this near by servos and cut a small panel out of the bottom of the rear fuse , added the supports and put the panel back in place .

That sounds like a good idea. I used 3/8" dowels so I hope I can find the plastic tubes you talked about in that size:eek: I have everything done except for the landing gear I ordered. They should be here Monday and I install them and balance the Zero. I hope with putting the 1lb weight on the plywood extension and the elevator and rudder servo's in the fuselage I will not have to add any more weight;)

I am not toally done yet. I am waiting for my LA-7 retracts to arrive from Troy Built. Once they arrive I will install them and than I will be done. I hope to be in the 18 to 20lb range;)

Will I got my LA-7 landing gear in today from Troy Built and they look great. They come with 4" wheels that should be the right size for this Zero;) I also got some hardwood sticks from lowes today to strengthen the landing gear area in the wings. I'll post some pics of the gear when I can:D

I Well I finally have one of the ESM landing gear mounted to a wing. Here are a few pics of the ESM gear and the wing it is mounted to. Now I am working on the other wing than I'll mount the air tank and swith into the fuselage.

Get almost done.:D I just have to test the ESM retracts, engine and glus back in the forward wing mounted that feel out when I was drilling the holes for the aluminum wing dowels. [:'(] Then I am done. Here are a few pics;)

I found out the unit was twisting a little when installed all the way because it was not totally flat. I used a couple of washers to shim up the low end and now it is working Here are a few more pics and a small video I took the gear working

Wow this thing is really tail heavy! [:@] Even though I did not install the servo's in the tail and put all servo's in the fuselage I still will need 2 lbs of weight in the nose along with 3 batteries and ignition in the nose to balance this thing. [:'(] I was hoping to keep the plane under 20lbs, but that is not going to happen.[X(] I'll post some more pics of what I have had to do to get this plane to balance at 6"(155mm) from leading edge;)
