It was the O.S. Speed 12TZ Spec 2 . It's a $440 engine though.

new question- If money is not an object, What is the best engine on the market? Highest rpm's? most power?

Which one has the highest rpm's? In the end if everyone had the same gearing and power that's what it would come down to.

doesn't really matter to me. I'll make it fit. lol. But let's go with .18 or lower. Carb doesn't matter since i have a top plate for both set-ups.

Sounds like your running a little lean. My car was doing the same thing. Mine was out about 1/2 turn but bo 1/8-1/4 at a time.

richen your low needle and high needle 1/2 turn each, if the needles are too lean they will sometimes idle high and die under throttle from lack of fuel. you may just need to lower the idle, just turn the screw under the air filter with the spring on it counter clockwise to lower it but it still sounds like the high needle is too lean since it dies if you give too much throttle.

Ehroof I got 1 more for you. I just ordered a hpi r40. I've seen a few pictures and all I really know is I'll need to build it. I guess it comes with no radio or engine. Any thought's on what will be a direct fit?

Any clues where i would be able to find the mario rossi tuned .12 ninja with the magnesium head? The guys on the smartech page turned me on to it but I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere. Maybe it's not out yet?

Ya that's a really expensive Engine, My hobby depot might have it in stock. You can get the same or better performance from the STS 12 modded by R&Bmods for a WHOLE lot less.

I figured it was expensive. I just can't seem to find one for sale. I'll try to email clermontmotorsports and see if I can at least get a price. The whole reason I bought the r40 is to take my time and build it the way I want. Besides that I have all winter to build it before I can do anything with it.

Has anyone had a problem with breaking clutch pads off at the pins? What would cause it? Any easy fixes besides the obvious alloy upgrade?

check to see if your pins are not bent on the flywheel. I have seen that before. will cause alot of binding.

I'm ripping apart the clutch pads. It's happened to me three times all on different cars. bb pro with 18cv-rx, smartech car pictured earlier and most recently my jato. When the clutch went in my jato it ruined the transmission either right before or right after but when I took the tranny apart everything looked and moved fine but the car won't move. ???????? I'll have to look at the pins.

also, I am sure its obvious, check the clutchbell bearings. Bad bearings can be a killer.

I was actually just looking at some bearings. I heard boca-sp? and acer make good ceramic bearings but I'm not sure how many and what size. I'll have to look through my books again. Hard to believe those bearing kits are worth around $100.

Who is Dennis?

What's a really good 2ch radio system? The best one i found was- SPEKTRUM DX2 DSM 2CH Pistol,1-Z270,1-Z590M SX . Actually I don't know if it's the best, just most expensive at $170.
