I have one and so far I am very Impressed. I love the handling and the build quality seems to be really good. It's a good fun truck and it can pretty much go anywhere.

I have also got most of the hops ups and now it looks really sweat. I will post some pictures this weekend, After breakin and a clean up

I have one and i like it quite a bit. are you guys having trouble getting standard servos to pull the brakes tight? i have to use a high torque just for the brakes. I also keep destroying clutch bearings. you guys having these problems at all?

No problems with the brakes so far, Although to be honest I don't use them a great deal. I like to run in wide open areas but when i have used them it's stopped the truck pretty quickly.

Also I have not had any problems with the clutch, Have you checked you have the correct space between the gears?

Lets try to start posting all Avalanche questions and answers here like in the other official threads.

My latest problem is proving to be quite a pain. I think im not getting the engine lined up and mounted right. Each time i reset it and do the paper test it seems right and rolls freely. It starts out ok but after 5 or 10 minutes the motor dies and the wheels lock up and the clutch bell gear apears to be sticking, its not the bearing and when i take the motor loose the clutch bell always spins just fine. Also when i remove the motor the car will roll freely. this leads me to believe the problem is with the alignment of the clutch bell gear and whatever gear it connects to. Any ideas?

Do you mean your engine is slipping? If so are you tightening them up enough? Also use loctite to stop them coming loose over time. I have had to adjust mine once but that was because it was set to tight by the factory.

it could possibly be diff gears, front or rear, could be the bearings, they heat up and bind. I would try replacing the clutch bell bearings and see what happens.

I dont think its the diff gears because when the motor is off the chassis the car rolls freely fowards and reverse without a problem. and i have replaced the clutch bell bearings, the one in there works fine. Im wondering if some screws are loose somewher else. the engine mount screws stay tight just fine.

I also have my leftt front tire ballooning weird. it balloons alot on only the right side of the tire. do i need to re glue them?

if the tire stays on the rim your ok, sometimes the tires will balloon when you turn or accelerate fast. if its staying on the rim, dont worry.

any other ideas out there for this problem? i think iv eleminated most of the possible causes of the wheels locking up, and iv checked all the screws involved. just cant figure this one out. think i need a new clutch bell and the other main gears? (not the diff gears)

so your sure its the engine/trans causing the problem? have you tried running in just front wheel drive or rear wheel drive to see if that has any affect? just throwing out ideas

I never have tried makeing it rear or front wheel drive only. I could be wrong but doesnt taking the engine off and seeing that it rolls perfectly fine eleminate the possibility that its anything besides where the engine gear hooks up? Also if you did make it front or rear drive whats the best way to do it? just pull out the dog bones?

just pull out the front or rear dogbone, from the center diff to the front or rear diff.
