hey guys i jinxed myself, last night i emailed (all about fun) to find out the replacement spur gear for the direct drive trans upgrade. He gave me the redcat part number 05112 and guess what i stripped out the spur gear today. Anyone know what brand i can use as a replacement so i can go to lhs and get one today . its like 67 degrees here today and i really want to run more today. also the stock one is 42 tooth can i jump up in theeth and get more torque for off the line , because the infinity 18 only has the one needle screw need more off the line .

thanks again,

Scott aka Secgenffemt

05112 is a 44 tooth, 02112 is a 42 tooth.

ask clermontmotorsports.com he knows about the gears and has them in stock:

you got it bro, remember less teeth on the spur gives you more top end, its the opposite of the clutch bell

hey guys just an update ordered the parts i needed for the stock trans and the direct drive. Put the stock trans in with the 13 tooth cb and omg this thing is nuts now, not doing wheelies yet but will spin all four tires on take off now, havent started to retune it now that it has the stock trans back in but so far i love it. was only able to get the 44 tooth for the direct drive, we will see how that works if anything happens to the stock one now

thanks for all the help everyone

scott

i am pretty sure they use the same backplate, i would suggest asking the support on redcat's website before you order it though, i remember a problem with someone using a pullstart from hpi, they work on the vx .18 and not the infinity.

***** i just checked the site and they sell a different backplate for the vx.18 and the infinity .18 so i think they are different, not to mention they are out of stock on the infinty backplate*************

yeah that was me the first time it broke on me . now i think the plastic is wore right where the spring fit in the back cover so it keeps slipping out. thoght if i switched to the ele. start then i wouldnt have to worry then.

*********figures *******lol

( just checked it too and it seems like they sell the starter gun with the backplate for infinity .18 and .27 together for $40) is that how you see it too

hey guys was just wondering if anyone knows for sure if the vx-18 and the infinity 18 carbs are interchangeable (i am still waiting for xoutas to pm me back, been over a week and a half). any input would be greatly appreciated thanks again
You can put the VX carb onto the infinity, its a little tricky[:@] infinity is held in with screws so if you install the VX carb onto the infinity you must drill and tap both sides of the carb. You can't put the Infinity carb on the VX [:'(] because there is no bottom O-ring to seal the carb[&o]
