Default Single speed Tsunami Ultrawide

Ehroof,
I finally took you advice and ordered a single seed set up for my Tsunami. I was driving tonight (only my 4th tank thru it )(first 2 were on idle- 3rd idle and a few throttle snaps) and 4th i finally got it on the ground. at low speed it turns on a dime. got the throttle to about half and it was a mini rocket. i hope i ordered the right stuff for my Tsunami.

you did but i would go with a 13 tooth clutch bell to give you more low end, i am pretty sure clermontmotorsports.com carries them, it will give you better low end, the one you got is a 16 tooth i think but if you like it and it has good enough low end torque for you, keep it like it is, you will like the single speed much better bro, now get some action pics and video's up.

I just ran today with my singlespeed in the 1/10 infinity truck and I love it. It is a little sluggish on the low even with the 13 tooth, but it snaps about a third way through and goes like a bat out of hell. my tires bulged as I drove down the street. I also cartwheeled a couple of times when I tried to slide a 180. I'm happy with it, but I'd like to have major tourqe off of the line. I probably gained about 10-15 mph on the top end. Thanks Dennis and Eddie.

i have 2 of my tonado's single speed and its great for offroad, you have alot of options when it comes to clutch bells too, you can run from a 13 to a 19 tooth so you have a great range to deal with. The single speed is also just less maintaince and work to worry about, off road can be hard on an exposed 2 speed trans.

I like my Tornado BB with the two speed trans, i have not had any problems with it shifting into second even on the grass or track. You can adjust the shift points so it shifts late to allow use of RPM's. I have one set up for both single speed and two speed and i like them both. The single speed is not needed, but can be nice at times. I do agree the 2 speed can be more maintenance!

its pretty easy,

1. take the engine out and take the clutch bell off and replace back the same way with the single speed bell
2. take the 4 bolts off that hold the trans in
3. you may need to take the top plate off, try to change without doing this but it may be hard to get the drive shafts back in the trans
4. put it all back together.

its fairly simple, the trans is a direct fit to the 2 speed

HHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think i may have the wrong clutch bell (its a 14 tooth). when i assemble everything there is like 3/8 play from the end of the washers to the bell.

it moves back and forth- about 1/8" to 3/16"- also there is alot of play on the front transmission dogbone

put a small piece of fuel line inside the drive cup to take up the slack in the dogbone, just dont make it tight. with the clutch bell, maybe you need to just add a washer to keep it in place. you can usually just put it together and it will stay in place and be fine

I retract my statement. Upon further reviewmy single speed screams. I needed to lean it out a little more! It's good at low end and much faster at top speed. I can't wait until the mud turns back into dirt around here!
