RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

All right, I rebuilt the Tornado BB, after a totalling crash, from chassis up. It has a custom(aluminum) shock tower and lower control arms that I made.
The Volcano has custom aluminum body mount pin that I made and that about it. Im in the process of make aluminum arms for the volcano as well.

I think the Volcano is faster, it takes the BB to long to get to speed. LOL Both still lots of fun.

I don't know. Even though it might take a little longer to speed up, it will probably still beat the volcano.

Ya'all ever had your Throttle Linkage Fall off? Ever had to do the PERP Walk through a Field lookin for you Linkage?[:@]

Well ....heres a fix so the screw holding Linkage to the Servo horn will never fall out Again! It also Tightens Tolerances (less slop) and cures Binding problems(if ya have them),,,,, Heres the picture....
P.S. Thats a 3x15mm hex screw, 2ea 3mm washers, and 2ea 3mm nuts. the nut on top is Loctited ant holds the other in place without having to over tighten(and cause Binding in the linkage).

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread

hey thanks! so you think that is better for take off than the moderate gear set with a 15t (i think 15t is the smallest i can go) it dose look like that kit would hold up better than what i have now if i do get that kit can the big gear be changed to give me a faster take off or is there only one gear that will fit and thanks for you'r help? i hear that there is a off road track in crossville have you been there

man it said "0 diff. kits Available" [:o] are the parts always so hard to find in stock

Macanan 03-12-2008 11:36 PM

Looks like everyone is out of them but I did fine just the single speed tranny on ebay in hong kong for $16.00 and you would have to get the 13 tooth clutch bell which is $12.95 its in the USA

This is for the clutch bell

if you can see in these pic, theres no springs or adjunstment. its just a rod to the carb and a rod to the brake. the servo arm is i little differnt to make this work. when you hit the gas, both arms move(on is ontopof the other) and then when you brake just the botom one moves. it work realy well;)

You will have to find a pic of your motor or take your motor out and see if it looks the same.

the rear drive shaft coming out of my tranny dosn't want to spin. I noticed that the cap srews that hold on the brakes were loose, so i tightend them, now the brakes don't seem to want to apply and the rear drive shaft still wont' spin.
