Default Macchi kits

I'm mulling over the idea of doing a short run of 3 Macchi kits. I'm thinking glass fuse, sheeted foam wings with retract mounts and glass bagged tail section. Anyone interested can PM me for details.

I have mine being made now. I will shoot for 200 MPH with mine straight and level some 65-75% nitro

I'm just finishing up on Airraptor's Macchi kit now. I documented a few steps of the construction in order to demonstrate the level of fabrication the end user will receive. I also need to publish specs.

wingspan: 62"
length: 54"
wing area: 520 sq in
weight: 6 to 7lb depending on equipment.

The first pictures are of the wing construction. 1 lb white foam with 1/16 sheeting. The spars are 1/8x1/4 balsa that have a glass box and CF caps. Wheel wells are pre done as are the retract mounts. The mounts are a box that ties into the spar. The end user needs only to fabricate a mounting plate to fit the particular retract and then epoxy that plate into the box. The tail section is pre sanded balsa that gets glass bagged.

The Macchi is proving to be quite the formidable weapon in warbird racing.
