Default RCPRO World Points 2015

Attached are the world points after the Speed World race in Phoenix. The first race in Tucson was blown out.

Below is the formula for calculating the world points and is based on how many pilots you beat on the day of the race.
E=Pilots entered in class
P=Place you finish

(100/E+0.2)*(E-P)+5

So if there are 10 pilots entered and you finish 3rd it looks like this.

(100/10+0.2)*(10-3)+5
(10.2)*(7)+5
76.4 points

I participated in the Bronze class at Speed World on March 28, 15. The participants listed above in the world points does not match the actual roster at the race. The listed participant above for sixth place is Roy McAvoy it should be Dean Child. Roy McAvoy was not entered in this race according to roster.

Yes, that is correct. Dean likes to be listed under an alias and asked me to list him as Roy. It's sort of a running joke and every year he races under a different name. Last year he was Ernest Shackleton. I'm keeping track of him in the main spreadsheet under both names.

What???

Dean C.--------------Roy M.--------------Ernest S. What kind of crap is that??? So that is what the RCPro warbird races has degenerated too So tell me just how many double spread sheets are you gonna keep for Mr whoever ??? A so called championship where folks are freely allowed to use Alias, gentleman that is no joke That is a tragedy for RC Pro and what it has become.

What it has become is a Farce, Its as simple as that. When CD's openly allow people to Race under multiple assumed names it is showing extreme disrespect for their fellow racers.

Talk about about bad sportsmanship, Wow

OK forget all that crap lets talk about Contest Director responsibility. A CD that would openly allow this is completely disregarding his duties to the AMA

Now suppose this mystery man was involved in a serious incident at this ama sanctioned event that he was involved in a serious incident using one of these alias' Talk about personal liability, I certainly would not want to be that CD.

Yes indeed Disrespect and Farce are the two words that best describes what this so called 'world Championsihip' has become.

Ok lets get this all straight, first of all Dean fills out all the AMA forms with the correct info so that is what the AMA needs. Next the only danger to Dean is if the score keeper does not want to play along with the game and Dean uses different names at different races he will not get all his points at the end of the year. He gets hurt no one else does. Now the CD of the event can say no to Dean and use his correct name on the heat sheet. Now Dean is not the first one to do this and I've seen it several times in the past and I've been racing since the early 90's. Hope this helps and again it's up to the CD.

Some people did get hurt last year and it was confusing to alot of contestents. Accounting of world points were incorrectly tabulated at the end of the year because used Dean alias. Please review world points from last year and you will understand the confusion and problems this joke caused. This type of activity takes away all credibility of World Points.

From what I saw of Larry Barber's performance last year he is almost certain to clean house in 2015 (i.e., take 1st place). That will be a wonderful achievement, should it come to fruition, independent of the points standings of any other particpipants, whether in aggregate, or not. Good luck to all and Godspeed in being able to attend many events, as it is understood this is not an inexpensive endeavor! It sure is fun, though (fun, being the operative underlying word in any activities with semblance of sportsmanlike conduct)!!! I look forward to seeing those who come to Victorville and the Wood Fire buffet on Main Street, Hesperia Friday evening I will be at the swimming pool thinking about Starbucks and Denny's immediately thereafter.

P.S. Steve, thanks for posting the formula as well as doing the thankless job you've undertaken. It is obvious a lot of thought was put into this and I genuinely appreciate the efforts of ALL RCPRO committee members as well as the unselfish efforts of the volunteers without whom these fun events could not happen! I am sure I speak for everyone in this regard (except maybe Dan Kelly...he knows why).

While I have no objection to the use of pseudonyms, it is ultimately up to the CD for each event. From now forward I will post the scoring using the names provided to me by the event CD’s (with the exception of typos). I have changed the original scoring post to put Dean on the list in bronze as that is how it was provided to me.

However LB2311 does have a point in that using a pseudonym could cause some confusion as to the actual scoring tallies. To that end if you use more than one name during the season and the CD’s agree to the use of that name the score will be split between those names and no amalgamation at the end of the season will be given (if you use two names there will be two scores). That will make it fair for contestants that are in the points chase and may not know that someone is using a pseudonym. So if you want to use a pseudonym and the points matter to you it is in your best interest to clear it with all of the CD’s before using it and is best to do so prior to the start of the season.

In your case Dan it won’t matter much at this point since you’re in last place anyway.

Finally a voice of reason. Thank you Dakotapusher for your reassessment of the damaging effects on the event by even just the hint of impropriety in scores reporting. I can think of no faster way to actually destroy an event than by this type of thing. Hopefully now we
move forward.

Interesting reading. Funny in a way since we just kicked off the SAM series here in Sacramento. For this race the CD listed me as Jim Skids. Of course Skids is not my real last name, It's Smith. However, we had two Jim Smith entered in Gold so I guess the CD made an executive decision so that we knew who was who. My only question is at the end of the year can I have the other Jim Smith's points also?
